I’ve been trying to decide on a camera for adventure photography. Small and weather-sealed big criteria so OM5 vs XT5. This helped push me toward OM5.

I use Olympus em1 mk 2 with 75mm f1.8 what a combo! I also own the 7-14 f4 and the details reproduction and sharpness is ridiculously good. MFT is gnatastic system for street and studio and video.

Em5 first edition with TTArtisan lenses 17mm 35mm or 50mm makes some wonderful black and white photos. The Lumix 14-42mm lens is also great . Nik effects silver pro is my go to edit software

I shoot concert as a pro and let me tell you that my small combo EM5 markII + 75mm F1.8 is giving superb results, especially after using DXO photolab denoising. I compared with pictures taken with my FF Nikon and Sony cameras and its 95% as good. And none of my clients are able to tell the difference after editing.

Yea it shouldn't be too bad, since you can expose image same on FF and M43 on same lens, and you get more reach and more depth of field in low light while exposing the same so in a way I'd say it's an advantage especially when you start getting into tele side of things lens wise. Most people get so lost in lens equivalents they start thinking same lens gets darker on smaller sensor it seems, if I wasn't so deep into sony already I would probably go M43 if I was starting over with photography, but for now I'm FF and APS-C user.

That Lumix lens is a great piece of glass, but there is also the OM System 8-25mm f4 Pro lens which is relatively small, has a removable lens hood, and with twice the zoom range can be more flexible. I really liked your review and critique of your photos!! This video is the best time I've spent really learning about photography from a KZfaq video in very long time. Please keep up this kind of content as I think it will be very, very helpful to people actually interested in making images rather than over analyzing irrelevant equipment specification differences. Thank you!

It's not dead it's stagnant, as the other formats are moving forward innovating and creating exciting new cameras and lenses. The G9ii came out 4 years too late and OM system are just reusing old Olympus technology over and over with the same camera, leaving out features and adding features as they slowly move along.

I'm a big fan of that lens too. I usually need to bring along the 12-40mm too because I'll see something I want up close and the 7-14mm just doesn't do it for me.

My OM-1 has the om system 20mm permanently attached and when I travel I take it with me with the 12-40mm zoom. Light weight and perfect when travelling.

Great video, maybe a fraction to long, but overall a good real life working photographers take on using a m43 camera (I have the 10 MkII ) in real life street situations. He’s a photographer reviewing, not a reviewer reviewing. I found the sub tiles of “use wide angle lens for Art Photography” a bit false and misleading, any focal length is capable of art photography, it’s the gray matter behind the camera that counts. Tudor mentioned copy and past the art presets from camera (jpg) into Camera Raw files, I’d love to know how to do that, I didn’t think it possible. My workflow is Adobe Bridge, ACR and then PS. Keep up the good work Tudor, your passion and enthusiasm for your craft show through.

Tudor brother. Can u pls review OM1 system. Am confused between OM1 system vs Lumix G9 ii. Am looking for a video camera to shoot my documentary and also use for wildlife. For street and art photography I use Leica rangefinder and Canon ZF.

Both are very good and almost the same. I don't have direct experience but for video Lumix is a little better, and for IBIS and wildlife OM1 because of the lenses... Personally I would go with OM1.

Great video!!!! The lens is very expensive! You can pick up a full frame 17-40mm f/4 Canon EF L full frame for around €300

but it will not work in a micro 4/3 camera. It makes no sense buying it.

@@planeador21 Thats true, you need a fullframe camera. A 5d mkii (for example) is around 350 Euros, so the full frame camera with the 17-40mm lens (both second hand), still cost less than the price of the 7-14mm (new)!!!

@@planeador21There is a point in buying it - ditch a dead micro43 a go for full frame. Not a huge differences in pricing these days.

Hi Tudor, You shocked me at the beginning with saying Micro Four Thirds is dead! Then I was relieved... I am always surprised how much we have in common - same love for the same kinds of gear. I own every camera you have shown except Leica. I always watch your videos and enjoy them. However, I've been shooting street for 20+ years and I feel that of all the genres of photography I have shot, street photographers are always the MOST perfectionistic. I disagree on the assessment of some of your images. You had a couple of really worthy shots that you rejected because of some minor issues that in my opinion, did NOT require putting down the value of the overall image. There was still a story there. I didn't want you to throw it away! So there's a lamp post intersecting with the woman's head? It actually added something very comical to the image. Overlapping elements CAN have value sometimes. On the other hand, we all have some subjective opinions about our own work, so I understand if you want to strive for a very specific outcome. However, if you want to throw away your images, send them to me please and I'll print and enjoy them 😃. Looking forward to your next video!

This olympus camera is totally worthless. Terrible image quality. So bad. Selling it is impossible. Dont throw it away yet. Send it to me and I will take care of the problem. Send all the olympus lenses also to me. You will be very happy i promise You!
