+Kady De Schrijver actually calling is a misunderstood between american and belgium soldiers during the second world war, because the belgian soldiers spoke french, the americans thought they were french so they called the fries, french :)

If you did a little more research beforehand you could take much more advantage out of your trips. There's soooo much more to explore in Paris than the Eiffel Tower and Starbucks :D

I live in Paris, so I can recommend you some places to visit ! Here are some of them (they are great if you want to take "tumblr" photos or if you want to see the hidden face of Paris) : Café de Flore, Café Kitsuné (one of my absolute favourite), Fondation Louis Vuitton (you have access to a park and a museum and there is a great view from the rooftop), Yogurt Factory, Le Sinople, Rue le Regrattier (you can find a really pretty teal door there), Café Ob-La-Di (they serve delicious breakfast), Rue des Rosiers (Marais), Parc Monceau, Jardin des Tuileries, Dior Couture Headquarters Buildings (breathtaking buildings), la Maison Rose (Montmartre), Rue Crémieux, le Trocadéro, l'Opéra Garnier, le Pont Alexandre III, Restaurant PNY (they serve burgers and fries), le Jardin des Plantes, Restaurant Ober Mamma (Italian Restaurant), Café Angelina (great if you want to drink tea or hot cocoa), Pancake Sisters, Passage Molière, Passage de l'Ancre, Leoni's Deli (organic and healthy hot dogs), Nina's Paris (teashop) and the Pink Swings at the Jardin des Tuileries. Before you guys go on trips you should do research on food places! We alwaysss do for trips. Like on tripadvisor or somewhere with reviews! Then you can figure out what's closest to the things you are doing it makes it a lot easier. Plus you can filter it to what types of food and look at menus!

In France, well Paris in your case, you could try "Bagelstein". They have it everywhere and it's very good. Also Paris is a huge city with so many choices food-wise, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find anything ;) Enjoy your stay xx

I am also a picky eater! But I found France to be an easy place to find substitutes to what I usually eat as I found a lot of food that I like have their origins in France. Baguettes are a staple in the french lifestyle and I highly recommend one as a substitute for bagels. And the Croque Monsieur is like a cheese toasted sandwich but taken to the next level! It's amazing and similar to something you would have at home. Also you are in the land of cheese now and some of the best cheese I've ever had is in France, so if you start feeling like cheese again you might really enjoy it :). I recommend trying the cheese fondue if you do! (The cheese used in fondue is similar to what you would have on mac and cheese) I hope this helps!

If you're ever craving a grilled cheese again but do not want actual cheese in it because you want to commit to the plant based diet, I recommend a vegan cheese by the brand Follow Your Heart. It is actually really good. Also, they just came out with an egg substitute that is pretty darn accurate.

French Fries originated in Belgium, not France lol. Also the train ride was so short because France & England aren't far from each other. As you would know from the London Eye since you can see the Eiffel Tower from it.
