I have never tried taking care of a pendant Anthurium before, so I was pretty much just winging it. Here’s how I did it from unboxing up until 4 months of having it. She’s thriving now :’) Except for the yellow spots… but … ignore that.
Time Stamps
0:00 hi
1:29 unboxing
3:26 where she’s living
5:05 checking root health
7:14 8 day update/ first watering
7:58 20 day update/ second watering
10:28 23 day update
11:25 29 day update/ third watering
12:59 2.5 month update
14:21 4 month update/ reflection
25:23 quick photo time lapse
25:48 look at her pretty leaves in the sun 🥺

Very nice job with the anthurium, and with the care it looks so wonderful. The roots were in very good condition, you're bf did a good job with finding a seller who takes good care of their stock. I use rain water we have a tank that collects rain and the plants love it like when it really rains. great video I really enjoyed it.

I feel you 100% on feeling like your anthurium pendulifolium is your little baby!!! I also just got my first anthurium and it too is a pendulifolium!! I am obsessed with her. Well actually the pot I bought came with TWO! So I call them the twins. Lol but yeah I adore them!!!!! I will definitely be keeping up with any updates you have on yours! There’s not many visitors on the pendulifolium itself. So any info on this exact anthurium will be greatly appreciated!!!!

15:58 I think this worry is very common for most people, I've found them so easy to care for and they really are super hardy. All mine are thriving even without a humidifier and I just water them more. I think it's mostly down to the price of the more popular species that creates a psychological barrier that puts people off. I've got half a dozen species now and my favourite is the moment is definitely my Magnificum; it only has one leaf but it's so big, bigger than some of my more mature fenestrated Thai Constellation leaves. You're going to so spoilt for choice for your next Anthurium!

Ya especially expensive plants that are high maintenance… not worth it. But now knowing they’re easy 🤔 I’ll look at the magnificum to maybe add to my wishlist hehe

Lol the story about your sister reminds me of when my mom first saw my Hoya compacta and she told me I needed to take better care of my plants cause that one was all jacked up, she thought the leaves had curled themselves up like that cause I wasn’t watering it enough 😂

I felt the same way when I got mines. Excited and lost, its in the same cup it came in. I set it on my back porch for the best humidity for this summer. I have seen the leaves at least 5ft in a pic. It really is a beautiful plant, can we get an update?

I do have pendant Anthurium also, but it called Vittarifolium, I wanna buy Pallidiflorum but the price is still too high. I really love my Vittarifolium, and it's the easiest from any anthurium I have. never get brown or crispy tips, and it also forgiving plants when I overwatered. I slightly watering my Anthuriums everyday and saturated them once a week, they love it. I believe they are thirsty plants, and they love their soil is constantly moist. If Anthuriums got crispy leaves, it sign their soil is not moist enough. If I found my Vittarifolium leaves turn brighter or yellowing, it sign of overwatered, so I just hold for a day and continue slightly water it for next day. In my experience, those yellowed leaves are gone, maybe its kinda rechlorophyll it self or healing it self, I don't know

Bottom watering never works for me. Idk if I do it wrong (I thought it was pretty straightforward), but no matter how long I leave it sitting there, the water seems to come only up to half the soil. I always end up pouring the water onto the plant, which defeats the purpose 😑
