I actually like their cutie marks. Each one is made up of three parts: The shield that represents the three of them as a group, a star, an apple, and a wing, indicating their individual races, and a musical note, a heart, and a lightning bolt, indicating a special ability of each of them as individuals. It rather effectively shows who each of these ponies are, together, in society, and individually. I like it.

I personally think their marks are two talents. I forget who explain the theory at the top of my head but I love it. You see the shield is their talent of the cmc as it has all their mane colors in it and such. But they each have their own symbol inside. Scootaloo has a lighting bolt, similar to rainbow dash's sweetie has music note for singing and applebloom had the apple. When it's broken down they have two marks each. One that binds them but one that shows how different they are

I absolutely adore this episode. Sure, it's somewhat rushed, but I love the songs and how poetic it is that Diamond Tiara, who's the one responsible for creating the CMC in the first place by bullying Apple Bloom for being a blank flank, was also the key to them getting their cutie marks. It has flaws, to be sure. But I love this episode nonetheless.

The CMC's marks have the CMC shield as well as some of their talents and personalities. Scootaloo has a wing and a lightning bolt, Apple Bloom a heart and an apple, and Sweetie Belle a star and a music note.

Whether Spoiled Rich actually listened to her daughter seems up in the air to me. What's important about the scene that would make her more open to appearing agreeable is the audience present at the time, including Miss Cheerilee, a figure of authority in the school. We see clearly earlier that Spoiled Rich is all about appearances, so naturally she would do whatever is necessary to save face, even if that entails eating crow.

I cried and jumped up and down when they got their marks 😭 such a good day. It was 9ish at night and I was about to go to bed but I decided I could watch one more episode. I went in spoiler free and I was screaming! I woke up my mom telling her they got their marks. I called my dad. They were both very excited for me. I was so excited and I didn't know what to do. 😂

i kindof like how this handled Diamond Tiara's fall and reformation it kind of reminds be of something said in Avatar:Legend of Korra "when we hit our lowest point,we are open to the greatest change"-Avatar Aang i loved this episode,even despite not being a big CMC fan,the only downside to this is the ending could be seen a mile away (at least for me) in my experience,if a MLP episode has several songs,one practically after another you know something big is going to happen.and if im not mistaken ( Crusaders of the lost mark has more songs than any other episode)

I don't see how adults would see Filthy Rich as unreasonable in the 3th EQG, yes he is presented as a villain but from any sane person view he is really generous in his position.

Listening to Diamond's lyrics in the song they make me both sad and worried about her yet at the same time very scared of her. She's in a mindset where she has to do whatever it takes to succeed regardless of the cost and she doubles down on it. The look of anguish on her face when she says the meaning of her fall, then the shutting of the eyes and the grim look of determination afterword implies she is fully aware of the consequences of failure. At the same time it also sounds like she would do anything to win and I do mean anything. It's really terrifying to imagine a child with that mindset and wonder what they could be capable of when they're older

I don't feel bad for Diamond Tiara at all, but I love her sad song as it fits very well with other characters both in & out of M.L.P. FiM.

I like the cutie marks, I feel like they show that while everyone has a talent, you still have a choice on what you do. They literally made their cutie marks. They decided that their friendship was a part of who they were and wanted to be. The shield represented that, while the emblem showed the talent of each.

I used to think that I liked this episode for the "wrong" reasons, in that I liked it the most not for their mark, but for that we were never gonna have to endure Diamond Tiara's antics again. So thank you for saying that the episode is a celebration over seing the CMC (perhaps not so much defeat but) overcome their biggest personal villain.

There is incorporation of their individual talents! Sweetie Bell has a star with a music note. Applebloom has an apple with a heart in it. Scootallo has a wing with a lightning bolt. I also like the music, too, and find it quite catchy.

I posit that Scootaloo's attachment to the CMC cutiemark is the way she was always pressing the others to try the more extreme ideas, consider the unlikely and dangerous.

The CMCs basically have 2 CM each. The Tri-colored shield representing the CMC unification as a purpose, and the individual center symbols, (what looks like a feather with a lightning bolt inside for SL, a heart with an apple inside for AB , and a star with a musical note inside for SB) probably representing a second talent each pony can also dedicate their lives too. The double layered CM I believe was the reason behind the “Beast transformation “ level of flashy, where other ponies have gotten theirs with considerably less pomp and circumstance ! Hopefully we get an episode before series finally that actually explains CMs, and gives attention to the apparent double CMs the CMCs got!

The 5th anniversary...yeah I love this one.

I called it. I predicted their cutie marks correctly. I posted a vid about it and everything before the episode aired. Also, I have to disagree on some level about their cutie marks not fitting all of them. The biggest complaint about the CMC's methods was that they were trying random things instead of focusing on what they already know to get a cutie mark. But, in the end, they did try the thing that ends up being their destiny over and over again. They work together as friends to overcome obstacles.

Now if only DT had a speaking line after this we haven't really seen any of the aftermath of DT's reformation

Something to consider when it came to the CMC is that I think a lot of people like myself got hung up on the cutie marks and just like in showstoppers we are we “thought“ we knew what the key marks were going to be. We also missed the key arc of the CMC from the very beginning. Getting the key marks was only a singular goal in their entire point in the series which was children growing up and maturing after all the cutie marks are only a sign of maturing. That’s why throughout the rest of the series they’re not really giving a new goal to strive for because every single one of their morals and challenges have been about growing up even the final CMC episode is them getting a chance to grow up before they’re ready and realizing that much like with the marks these things take time and mustn’t be rushed.

Liked it. Nothing exceptional besides open the door for proper developments. Also the marks are like a coat of arms for real crusaders: they're a crest with a unique insignia that represents each of them as members.

This episode. People either love it or hate it, I'm in the meh category. I think Pinkie Pride and Magical Mystery Cure did the musical episode much better.

Five and a half seasons in, and silver spoon finally grows a back bone and a personality. And yet, she's still my second least favorite character in the show. On a different Note, if this episode had been the ending of the whole series, I would have been okay with that.
