Taking my R53 to the UK's biggest MINI show!

This weekend I join R53 Owners Club at the beautiful Beaulieu in the New Forest. I'm attending the Mini Cooper Rego show, dubbed to be the biggest MINI show of the year!
My channel has been fairly heavily overrun with my big 4wd's, they won't be going anywhere with many more trips to come...but it's also time for a new project. Enter the K Swap Mini idea! Whilst Covid - 19 is currently screwing the world, it's become increasingly difficult to go on any trips, so all my focus will be on the K Swap ... So nice that father and son are making memories together. I do hope he got himself a mini cooper and you enjoy a road trip together. I am 65 and enjoy my 53 reg brg mini cooper every time I drive her. I also owned 2 original Mini's one a 1275 gt in the 70s and one in early 90s. They are an iconic good looking fun little car. it's shows like this that made me regret buying a 2004 GTI 1.8t 5M (in 2004) and not buying a 2004 MCS. Had the GTI for 15 yrs. But driving a MCS after buying the GTI gave me huge buyers remorse....would the MCS have lasted just as long? Probably. It was the go-kart I was after. 2nd choice was a NB Miata, followed by a Legacy GT Spec-B. 2004-2005 was a great year for cars....... 🏁

dude where did u get the blackend side scuttle light housing the bulbs i got but the S black frame to hold the light I cant find anything like that.

how are you finding the TD 1.2’s? Day/night difference over OEM imo!

I ran the TD's before on other cars and yep they're extremely lightweight and make a huge difference! I love 'em! I've got a few sets of wheels but set with these ones for now.

What seats have you put in that? I'm too big to fit in the standard R53 seats

The seats are BB6 seats from a company called BB7 - you can find them mostly on Ebay. Really nice seat!

We stayed at 'The Master Builders', it was great..the food was unreal. We'll be booking it again for next years show.

Julian Goulbourne0 seconds ago Is it possible to discharge the ac radiator by yourself if you want to replace the ac radiator I know there are two ports of the left hand side of the mini r53/r52/passanger side.. I wanted to change the ac radiator.

It is possible sure but I'd recommend a garage doing it. The gases released are toxic and there's a ton of pressure in the system too.

It is illegal (in the UK at least, probably also in EU) to release air con gasses into the atmosphere, they are extremely powerful greenhouse gases. Garages need a licence to work with them and they use equipment to capture it on extraction.

how much you reckon the whole K swap has cost if you don’t mind me asking bud, really want to put a K20 in my R50 instead of buying an R53 but not sure if it’ll cost too much
