Well done mate, you picked a grate bike to start out and the right trails to learn on. Keep at it and enjoy it. Like the other comments said hand pain or any pain on a bike is bike fit. Experiment with bar roll and seat adjustment. Bike shops are friendly and will always help you with this. 👍

Hi, Have the same bike. Change the grips to more comfy ones and make sure your fork is set up right. Correct pressure for you and check the rebound is not too fast

Hands hurting could be something to do with the size or set up of your bike not being quite right. There are lots of vids here on KZfaq about bike fit. Hopefully that will solve your problem 🤞. Good luck.

I realise this video is now 8 months old but this bike is still available at Halfords, so if someone could please offer a bit of advice on what size to get? I'm 5"10 which falls right in the middle of suggested sizes of Medium and Large. Voodoo's are never in store near me to try so i'd have to order online. I would be using for very light trails at the weekend and also for to and from work in the week. I currently have a Carrera Fury in medium, not sure how similar they are reach etc
