Hoping this video helps answer some of your questions, and best of luck to anyone currently looking to take this exam!
If you are going through ECFVG and have completed step 3, then you will need to request that the ECFVG contacts ICVA directly to confirm you are eligible, so you’ll need extra time for this. All the information can be found on both websites below.

Great Video! I’m a german last year vet student and I absolutely want to work in Florida as well. Thanks so much for sharing all this information, it helps me so much and encourages me enormously. Can you please please talk about how you’re gonna prepare for the practical part of the examination?

Thanks! Oooh exciting you are also looking at Florida ☀️. I think motivation is very much needed to get through these, but every step is a bit closer. I can talk about it once I figure out how I’m going to go about it 🤣. As of yet, I don’t have a plan in place. Having a break and focusing on my internship at present. Wish it could be a break involving a month on the beach instead…

Hey ! Great video .. do you know if the QSE that is the first exam for PAVE program is equivalent to BCSE.. I’m hardly finding anything about that exam

Thank you it was helpful I'm planning to take it this dec pretty much worried about the test thanks for suggesting breaks time during bcse i was exhausted after two hours so it's kind of challenging for me too... If you have got any tips to fast reading questions i mean how to fastly attempt kindly share

Well done for getting through the BCSE and I'm happy the break suggestions helped! Honestly, just do the best you can and practice timing yourself nearer the time for the NAVLE as this is all you can do to improve your speed. The speed is definitely a challenging aspect of it!

What if I want to go to Florida and after having everything approved I want to move to a different state, how does that work?

I believe you just need to register in a different state. But, you'll need to look into this as I don't have any experience with it.

So now you are preparing for CPE.... so are you working as a vet technician right now? And is it easy to get that practical knowledge of Necropsy , OH surgery, Bovine and Equine exposure while working as a vet technician on a restricted license of 2 years? Thoughts of all these complex eclipsed future gives me anxiety.... i have no idea regarding this.

@@catwalkdoctor thank you for your videos! the only option I found to have enough practical experience for CPE is to take a 1-year course at the Loisianna vet university. Cause working vet tech will not give you this experience, usually no one aloud you to have hands-on experience without a license. And I'm not really sure when you have to pass Navle? as I understood it should be BCSE first, then it's CPE and afterward Navle to get the license.

@@Gossip.girl. Hi! I'm not sure what the situation would be in the US to get the practical experience for the CPE. You can however take the NAVLE after the BCSE, which is what I did. Now I only have the CPE left to do. Not sure if you need the surgical experience first though. If you don't, one option might be to work in a state that allows you to practice on a temporary license but I don't know which states allow this, etc. Could you not gain the practical experience in the country you graduated from? This might be an easier way to get.

Do you think it will be easy to get a visa for the US when you get your licence to practice in florida?

With the current shortage of vets, this is not something I worry about.

Really depends on where you are coming from. There is a shortage of vets, that's true but unfortunately a work visa depends on much more than that. For example, my home country Peru has no treaties with the US and therefore I need to go through a lottery in order to get myself a work visa (ughhhh horrible I know, but true). It's definitely something I wish I had known before going into this whole ECFVG process.

@@camilatalaveracampos7847 Oh gosh, is this the only way you can get a working visa? As a British person I can't actually use the lottery so I guess it can swing in both ways. I'm also looking at specialising which will hopefully make me more valuable (eventually!) and therefore easier to get sponsored.

No, you have to take this first and in most states also the CPE.

Hi doc I want to ask u about bcse study plan is that only zuku review enough for passing bcse I am currently preparing bcse from zuku and I don't understand do I need other book for study like Merck manual or just stick to zuku In zuku when u click the option information pops out as u already know Can u tell me that only that info is enough bcz there are links of disseases in that ans do I click all these links and study all disseases or just small information How you prepared from zuku can u tell me briefly I will be very thankful to u

What I did was literally just go through all the questions on Zuku. I learnt by reading the boxes that pop up after you do it correctly or incorrectly. I didn't study from anything else. I also didn't use any of the other stuff Zuku offers as I felt going through all the questions until I got them right was enough for me. Think it does depend on your study preference, but I like to study from one source where possible. I did also have a few years of general practice and ECC experience though. Hope that helps!

@@catwalkdoctor thanku so much doctor I am newly graduated vet and now it's been 1 year when I passed my last exam so according to that what's your suggestion to me? One last question mam is paper comes from zuku syllabus ? for me is that enough to just memorize whole zuku or I can go for other stuff. Right now my bcse progress is almost near to 70% and I completed 53% study mode /127 days left

@@ifhamali2318 I think everyones clinical experience and way of remembering is very subjective, so I can't say if that will work for you but just doing Zuku questions worked for me.

I took 10 days off prior to the exam, and then just studied on weekends and evenings a couple months before that. Had just started an internship then so time was limited.

Do you have to have internship or residency to go through all this process, do you know? After all that 4 steps you become a board certified or still have to go through more steps? I’m starting to search about this now and I’m kinda lost

@@yameenkoondhar9050 I suggest doing Zuku Review until you get them all correct, both in study method and exam mode. Also clinic practice will help a lot.
