Hi Ricky, 4-yr P24 member here. Enjoyed this Q&A. I wanted to drop a quick update for you and others. It's interesting the timing of it, but about 10 weeks ago, with my blog dying on the vine, I had the idea to create shorts videos that support each of my blog articles. So, I created a 2nd youtube channel dedicated to shorts, and so far I've only done about 20, but this month over last month I have seen a 14% increase in pv's and a 29.95% increase in users. It was right after I dove into this project that you came out with the video discussing pinterest and how that sustained cookforfolks after the google apocalypse! Sorta like great minds think alike. But truthfully, I get most of my inspiration from you guys, so there could have easily been a subliminal inspiration somewhere along the way. But all to say, it's gratifying to see this immediate result. Oh, and the way I know it is this and not just random google algo, is that the articles with the most growth are articles I did the shorts on. Btw, posted across YT, IG/FB reels, X and Tiktok.

I agree: do not use auto-updates. Updates aren't always an improvement. They can introduce new bugs, incompatible code changes, and in Ricky's even hacks apparently. Backup to 2 locations, create a staging site to test updates, then update the live site. It's a pain but auto-updates are just very risky.

I was so happy, when you got to the question about completely changing your website topic, as this is my challenge right now. However, your advice doesn't apply to my scenario, as the website is my personal brand with my name in the domain. What would your advice be for this scenario, please?
