Those interested in Tal performing with Jeff Beck need to see his Live at Ronnie Scott's video performance. It's about 10 years old now and Tal looks like a kid playing the hell out of the bass. It's fantastic!

Totally agree on content/performance - it's spectacular on all counts - pinnacle performances. Tal is unreal and Vinnie Colaiuta ditto. Keyboardist is great too - the whole thing is sick. There are spots where the mix could have been be a lot better though (and still could be easily tweaked). Some spots where I want Vinnie (or Tal) to punch through with a fill or the call-response interplay... but it sounded like the only mics on the drums were overheads and/or Tal is buried. . On other tunes the mix is flawless (probably recorded on different nights).. but still easily tweaked, and they should. Even with those mix flaws, it's still about as good as it gets for a live performance. Beck's more recent line-up was nowhere near as focused/interactive.

Tal is a brilliant musician. I first was blown out of my seat watching the Jeff Beck show and wondering who is this amazing beast of a bass player. I also love her voice on the Love Remains LP. Just a pure musical treasure.

MY first introduction to Tal was seeing her perform with Jeff Beck at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary. The thing that struck me was seeing this 19 year old girl (I think she was 19 at the time) holding her own on stage with Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy. She was playing like she was one of their peers. The amount of talent she had floored me. It comes absolutely no surprise to me she is enjoying success as a solo artist.

I'm turning 70 this year. I have been playing and enjoying music most of those years. After the Ronnie Scott gig I was hooked on your playing. It's interesting, you remind me of another Aussie lady of great talent, Alice Fraser. Although your are in different areas of entertainment both of you blow my mind in your great talents. It's the Marketing Machine that makes pop stars, not necessarily talent. Mostly based on formulas and "perfect" electronic/synthesized music and, .....ahem...... "live" performances. What Tal is doing is real, pop music is more akin to WWE.

I absolutely loved her with Jeff Beck. I haven’t heard any of her music, apart from the little taste I got here. I’ll admit, I’m not gaga for it, but I haven’t always been keen on some of Jeff’s stuff till I gave it a chance, so I’ll delve in a little deeper and give Tal’s music a chance. Any recommendations for starters?

I have followed you for quite a while wondering how this stunningly together, brilliant kid wound up on stage with Jeff Beck and a string of other stars when there are so many other great players with vast experience who might have taken each of those gigs. This gave me some insight as to how that came about. Thank you. There is still so much to learn, all the same. The video leaves so much unsaid, when there is clearly so much going on around, with, and inside you. Please share more of it when you’re ready. Thanks for video and for your music.

To Tal, you're such an influential musician since you give such a unique and emotive performance with techniques that are different than many guitarists which leaves such an unforgettable experience. As a composer of original music themes for comics performed on the guitar who trained musically on piano and the viola in secondary and college bands as well as orchestras, I love hearing instrumental music like yours since I too do instrumental guitar music to represent stories and characters. You're a muse, amazing role model, and a treasure!

I knew Tal had to be an amazing talent when I saw Jeff Beck band, I had no idea she was a genius Thank you for sharing

She's not, at least not yet. Bach, Mozart, et al were musical geniuses. They did things no-one had done previously and 2-300 yrs later we're still trying to unravel what they created. In the modern songwriting realm I'll put Joni Mitchell up there. Maybe Lennon-McCartney just in terms of sheer influence. And there are a few others. Tal was a child prodigy on the bass, and she's very talented overall. But so are 10M other people making music today. The technical ability of these young people is staggering thanks to unfettered access to the creative tools and a global community. So I'm going give these dark and plodding freshman compositions of Tal's 50 years and see if anyone was influenced by, or even remembers them before I start applying the "genius" label to her songwriting.

Just discovered you. You came into my YT feed on 10/24/23. That blue skirt & those boots & of course the bass, vocals, songwriting. Tal, you are the whole package. I'm in my 60s. I miss Jeff Beck so much (1st vid of yours that came thru my feed); grew up listening to him; broke the cassette tape bc I played it so much but magically managed to mend it. I'm so glad you spent so much time with him & his dear wife Sandra. Definitely following your career now. Never stop being a #Badass.🎶 ✌🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼

Tal, I first saw you at NAMM, demoing amps at the EBS booth, when you were like 15 or 16. I heard your playing, and it pulled me into the booth! What I saw was NOT what I was expecting, to say the least, but now, as the father of a mid-20's accomplished jazz musician myself, all I can say is that, you've made your parents and family very proud. You are a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. :)

Like many of us, I discovered her with Jeff Beck. I am realy impressed by the turning point in her career. An absolutely superb voice and great compositing talents. Even if the styles are not comparable, I think necessarily to Meshell Ndegeocello, but also to Wendy & Lisa

It’s like she has direct contact with the universe and expresses her unique perspective on it to us through her music. She realizes that the body and her bass are only her instruments to that end. What an incredible and rare talent. I’m so glad I found her watching Jeff Beck.

@@sunspot6502 do u mean Ronnie Scott sax player from the UK,not sure I see what he has to Tal. I Kno R. Scott was a talented sax player who opened up one of the first modern day jazz clubs in UK,🎷🎷🎷🎷

@@annanutherthing? This was way better than a stuffy indoor jazz club the music is the always the focus Granted the crossroads festival was like 14yrs ago. Her career was forged at this show.
