This moved me to tears. It is the story of so many Indigenous women. Thank you for these teachings, Tala.

As I go through the videos of the absolutely amazingly smart, beautiful woman give these other women her words(and hoperfully some strength they may need at that moment)my heart breaks and then heals again because of her resilience. When she mentioned her daughter... I just know this woman and all those involved will help so many people creating bright futures!

Thank you for the traditional knowledge. I have been gifted my aunt's sewing machine after she passed away. So much heart break this past year for my family. I stumbled upon your tutorial for making one, and decided to make some for myself and my 3 daughters. This brought tears to my eyes. I strongly believe that I made the right decision to make these healing items. I will cherish your words and pass on the knowledge to my kin and anyone I can. I wish I could hug you and have a sit down for any of your classes. I feel that you understand what I have gone through that I chose not to tell anyone else out of fear. It is now time for me to take a stand.

I was asked to make the first Pueblo dress for a 2yo girl. This video made me cry yet made me empowered, inspired and motivated me to do it not just for the dress itself but know to do so with prayers of blessings, strength and protection for this new carrier of our culture and history. Thank you so much for sharing many prayers and blessings to this beautiful woman and her strength and resilience, that is the real Native American beauty that Disney could NEVER replicate blessings to the person sharing this.

Very powerful words from a very powerful woman! This helps me to learn some of my native culture that has been lost from my tribe due to cultural genocide.

Thank you for standing up.... this was really good. I've struggled to wear skirts for the same reason. I'm learning boundaries as well. This is making me feel more safe. If you are reading this... protect the youth. By teaching them to feel comfortable expressing boundaries.

I’m preparing to create my daughters first ribbon skirt. This is good because after this first one, she will learn to make her own. Remembering to smudge and not forgetting why I’m making it and not just seeing it as a project. Thank you. It brought tears to my eyes to hear your story.

in a couple day i'm going to a ceremony and i'm going to wear my moms ribbon skirt i was kinda scared to try wear it. i now know when i go, to be proud to wear it. i am going to wear it to heal, to become close to mother earth. i have been sexually assaulted when i was a child and i'm not okay. i always pushed it aside. wearing the skirt will be empower me. will show me that they will not win. i am 15 years old and i never knew how to heal and to ask for it. i'm going to start my journey to not be angry.
