First time I visited a Mall in the Philippines with my Filipino surfing buddy I heard a girl singing beautifully. I asked my buddy if there was a concert. Hi Bubs & Doe, karaoke stores are all over the country. Every mall, wherever in the Philippines, has karaoke machines for sale and they allow anyone who wants to sing to do so. Amazingly, their are so many good singers and really good singers who don't have real training! So it's common that tv shows have singing competitions and discover talents. The students usually pass by the malls to hang out. Karaoke is one of the favorite past time. Weddings, birthdays or whatever occasion, it is certain that you'll have a karaoke session.

The first singer was actually singing the song PERFECTLY THE SAME as how the original singer sang it... he’s not playing nor is he singing badly...

In case you're still wondering how could these happen in a mall, it's when the shop is selling electronics like a TV and/or home Karaoke devices, and they have these karaoke mics set-up for demos. Sometimes, they'd have the sales person singing, and anyone walking by could try it out as well :D
