I can’t imagine how much Mason must have regretted mouthing off like that when he was given the one opportunity and was literally seconds away from getting a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd but instead torpedoed his own performance by mouthing off and having attitude and eventually getting himself booed off the stage after an incredibly good performance. Ultimate epic failure.

Yes and no. I generally agree but most people make the mistake of confusing confidence with arrogance. One is necessary to be a public performer and the other is toxic. It’s a very fine line to walk and so few get it right, most are intoxicated by fame and become conceited assholes but that doesn’t invalidate their talent. The trouble is, once you become arrogant you stop listening to other people which means you stop learning and improving at your art and your skills stagnate. That’s why the truly humble artists tend to become the greatest, because they never think themselves above learning something new that can make them even better.

Mason screwed up awfully. He almost had his chance, but got more and more arrogant as the audition went on. Props to Simon man, he stood up for the not just the judges, but the young men also on stage. He had no right to be the way he was and say the things he said. The poor guys on the stage must’ve felt awful. What a jerk. You know you’ve screwed up when Simon begins to cuss.

He may be arrogant young man but he got mine and the audiences attention. Recall the band Texas years ago saying they quit because they weren’t able to do what was truly them, not just that band either. Loathe cowell.

I’m gonna assume it’s cause she sings with a lovely small bit of vibrato, but vibrato doesn’t equate to a good singer. A small town singer like her can be called a good singer cause she’s not gonna reach the level of Lady Gaga or Celine Dion who are great singers.

Now in such a small town you can’t expect to win the lottery with a Beyoncé so when someone like her comes around, you say she’s okay. She’s not terrible, she’s okay. She’s not a bad singer. Now hold her up to Beyoncé or Lady Gaga and yeah, definitely a weak singer with no credibility. But on her own, in a small area where they live with no Beyoncé, that’s a different story. Ever been at a talent show and there was a kid singing and they weren’t great but not bad either. You’re not gonna tell them they’re trash, you’re gonna say they’re good especially if they’re the best that school’s got.

And sometimes judges forget that they are there to judge, not to pass vile or disrespectful comment. There's always a polite way to say no and give a constructive criticism instead of using fancy adjectives (which any layman can use by the way). If they are judges, then that's because they are considered to be experts in their fields (giving them a benefit of doubt😶), but their judging sounds exactly like any random common person (if we were given a chance to judge, then we can also speak the same way.) So what's the difference between any random person and these colourful judges? Just that they are rich, popular and good-looking people and can bring TRP but don't have ability to fairly judge.

The Curtis kid actually isn’t really rude, he was just a kid, and he admitted that he had a problem with not listening to people, and was trying to work on it. Jason changed a lot since The Four, as he was on Idol and he had humbled himself.

Maybe he came off as creepy but everyone projecting pedophile and molester onto the dude without knowing a thing about him is just wrong. I think his song choice was very bizzare. If he would have come on like a sweet old guy in a suit and sang some kind of crooner standard he could have played that audience and judges like a fiddle. Jason's behaviour wasn't rude, it was a misunderstood and immature attempt at turning the other cheek. He was right that judges hurt competitors but his attempt at turning the other cheek was awkward for the lady in red and didn't do hi any favours.

Curtis was actually a good person. He had a good voice, and although his personality was very jumpy, he was still being polite. He admitted his issue and kept quiet when Simon pointed it out. He deserved 4 yesses.
