I mean, malevolence is an actual thing, and it sort of seems like Phi/Maotelus can't burn away malevolence that's too deep from somebody, and probably can't purify Malaks/Seraphs as well as humans, and probably is even less potent at purifying himself, so even a bit of malevolence getting into him is gonna be a toughy for anybody to get rid of. Sorey does it by using his own purification powers (which I guess indirectly came FROM Maotelus but whatever) and even then it takes ages.

IKR. you legitimately felt their connection and their bond. It was so real and convincing, especially the moments where Phi breaks his pact with Teresa to save Velvet and Velvet herself softening up and projecting her brother on him, even giving him her brother's name, and when he finally snaps her out of her despair. Oh, my god there are so many great moments between them that I can't describe and when she chose to seal herself and Innominat/Laphi, Like Laphicet/Phi, you felt empty, because again, of their bond. I can't describe it without feeling sad either. T_T Poor Phi.

she couldn't kill Inominat though. They would've had to seal him away using something else. I'd ask Magilou, she seems to know everything

sadly though i suppose its a little too late considering she sealed innominat and herself. I suppose with all things considered she got the best ending for her possible.

GunSlinginOtaku I have to agree. The one thing I could have seen potentially happening though is finding her redemption through helping rebuild what she destroyed. but then I remember that she kind of needed to seal herself with innominat away in order to even have a world in which that would be possible. She fulfilled her role, and Laphicet fulfilled his by doing what some might have thought Velvet would have done. Her sealing herself with Laphi/Innominat had to be done sadly. otherwise the world would have plunged into chaos, and more malevolence would have been spread due to him being "hungry".

besides i think that Laphi and Velvet are living inside a dream while sealed, so at least they can have their little slice of heaven, even if its just a dream

Its actually more realistic. Remember what they said, no great accomplishment cannot be done without sacrifice. Its for the bigger picture as a whole. The Lord of Calamity already made peace with that. Gotta love JRPG games with their somewhat ambiguous and endings you gotta imagine and interpret for yourself.

I agree with you on that, this reoccurring thing of the main heroine sacrificing him/herself is really getting old. Game endings like Tales of the Abyss and Symphonia done it right, because I yearned for what happens next for the main characters. When literally the main characters get torn away from me and never come back, I get a blank feeling with the game. Which utterly makes me not think about the what happens now. (Even if this game is a prequel to Zesteria, I can't imagine what the other characters are doing now.) This game had such a wonderful character development, I'd even go as to say the best one yet, but then they pull this stunt and like you said, puts all that effort in the trash.

There's gonna be a plot hole in Zestiria if they do it the other way around

Sonic_171 000x then it would create a lot of inconsistencies in the story line between Berseria and Zestiria. sincr the latter game is a sequel to the former. in other words that had to happen.

Zerberos22 she is not dead, just in a perpetual cicle of destruction while sealed with Laphi, they are like the Ouroboros, the snake that eats itself. At the very least they got their little slice of heaven
