This is a TV series reaction to my first time watching Tales of the Empire! I really enjoyed Tales of the Jedi and am very excited for the other side of it. This video contains Episodes 1 through 3 which focuses on Morgan Elsbeth and her time before the events of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. Morgan is one of my favourite characters in the Empire and Diana Lee Inosanto voices/acts her really well. It is fun getting a "prequel" for her and seeing how her and Grand Admiral Thrawn came to be acquainted. Isn't it ironic how Morgan's quest for Revenge drove Her to seek retribution on the wrong People, whilst aiding the very person who, albeit indirectly, caused all Her suffering in the first place? Sure, it was Greivous's Master Dooku who carried out the massacre, however it was The Sith and Their machinations that made the massacre possible. Like so many of Sidious's victims, Morgan died never knowing who her true enemy was and was forever convinced that it was someone else.

Anyone else notice the almost servile relationship between Morgan Elsbeth and Thrawn in the Ahsoka series? Makes sense if You think about it: both are foreign arrivals in an Empire founded on prejudices on aliens, non-humans, droids, clones and all Force-related affairs. Conformity, Unifomity and Respect, whether that authority be political or martial, are the name of the game. Both suffered from the petty prejudices of others. Both were seen as an unwelcome force in their respective fields of expertice. They have an eye for details, talent and unorthodox ways of thinking to solve problems. They are not afraid to put themselves in direct danger and fight for themselves and not overly-rely on others. I also noticed how Morgan's attitide goes from a tough, domineering and ruthless Survivor of Dathomirian héritige to a weak, submissive and sometimes even scared little student seeking aproval from Her teacher. It speaks to Thrawn's commanding presence and His ability to dominate a room. Defenitely a Mentor-protegé relationship between the two if You ask me.

Diana Lee Inosanto’s fighting skills as Morgan Elsbeth in the live-action show, are legitimate. Her father was best friends with, and a student/teacher to, Bruce Lee, as well as one of the very, very few people that he gave his blessing to in order for her father to teach the martial art that Bruce Lee created. Aside from that, Guro Dan Inosanto is a very big name in the martial arts community, as he’s one of the foremost instructors in the martial arts of the Philippines, where his family is from. He’s also very sought after as a fight choreographer, and trainer, for TV shows and movies. So, she has a very, very good fighting pedigree for her roles to pull from.

You should definitely get the audiobook performances of the Thrawn books and the Heir To The Empire novels! Not only is Thrawn's voice perfect, the audiobooks include sound effects and music! It's very much like there's a movie going on in the room with you.
