They discuss his signature trick by the same name that he performs at his shows and the song's intention of proving that he's legit and shouldn't be labeled as a phony by the skateboarding community who haven't hesitated to call out others for not being down with the culture. Hopsin also speaks on his song 'Sag My Pants' dissing multiple mainstream rappers of the time, he tells if it was really all that personal and gets into his take on how a little bit of early ignorance is healthy for the growth of an artist. 21:08 -- Hopsin's song 'Kill Her' is brought up as they discuss it's context outlining his anger directed at Ruthless Records' CEO Tomica Wright. Hopsin speaks on his getting baptized into Christianity back in 2012 as well as his moving away from the faith when he realized he couldn't live his life by those rules. They also discuss the negative history as well as the positive roles that Christianity has played in the black community. 1:02:22 -- Hopsin gets into his take on Royce da 5'9" being not just a GOAT emcee but a GOAT all-around human being. They discuss Royce's wisdom and Talib's process of considering how Royce would approach every situation. Hopsin's lyrics to 'Ill Mind of Hopsin 8' is explored as they get into the feud and falling out he experienced with co-founder of Funk Volume Records Damien "Dame" Ritter. Hopsin talks about how the label he founded with Damien is unfortunately now defunct due to egos clashing and communication breakdowns between the two owners. 1:06:07 -- Hopsin speaks on his song 'Kumbaya' and the music video being shot during his visit to Thailand. They also get into the deep level of honesty that he shows on 'Marcus' Gospel', as it remains to be the only song in his catalog that strips away his Hopsin character completely and reveals him speaking from the standpoint of his true self "with no sauce added". They go on to discuss 'You Should've Known' featuring rapper DAX, that track being one of his favorite collaborations to date and they talk about Hopsin directing essentially all of his own videos. 1:08:46 -- Hopsin gets into why he has been steering clear of releasing full albums and sticking to singles. Big fan of Hopsin, when he breaks down any specific subject matter the execution is extraordinary, dude is not just a wordsmith, he’s a great thinker and applies it to his rhymes.

The silver lining of the attention span of Singles vs. Albums is that now if you create or "direct" a body of work, it doesn't need to have a concrete length or a concrete number of songs. A 4-song, 7-song, or 9-song project that runs 13-25 minutes (or an hour if it all blends together) can be just as powerful as a classic 16-track album from yesteryear. There is a blessing and a curse of the streaming, consuming listener. You no longer need to fill every second of a compact disc to give the listener their money's worth.

Hopsin is ridiculously underrated as a giant in the hip hop community. This was very eye opening and salute to Talib, for having the dude on the show and open up a bit about his history and dig a bit into his ill mind. One of the greatest right there.
