Plus, they better hope their neighbouring countries would accept them as refugees. I’ve had an Afghan friend who fled years before and she told me her family was able to flee if it weren’t for their wealth. So pretty much, you had a better chance of successfuly fleeing if you were wealthy enough to afford a flight to elsewhere. If you happen to be some kind of ‘lower-class’ however, fleeing would be very difficult.
