One of my fondest memories as a kid was hitting all the indie record shops here in SoCal on the weekends and picking up a couple of the coolest 12" vinyl remixes coming over from the UK. Was like a constant treasure hunt searching for my favorite song remixes. Loved it. I still have all of them. Crates full. Couldn't wait to get home to play them over and over. Was always so mesmerising to me listening to all the individual parts of songs broken down and rearranged. This one was always one of my favorites. Even 30+ years later and barely a week goes by without me listening to this song at least once. Always resonated with me. The 80s were an amazing time to be a music fan. Was lucky to be in my early teens just as the decade started. Sadly, there will never be another one like it. Every generation should have their music equivalent of the 80s. So much innovation and experimentation. So many great songs. So many great artists. So much crap, too! But that's part of what made it so incredible. Music truIy was all over the place. Every day something weird, something really cool, something laughably lame came out. And it was brilliant. And Talk Talk was part of the fabric that made that period so fantastic. So I'm very sad to know Mark Hollis has passed away. Another Icon from that glorious era is gone. R.I.P. Mark. And thank you.

A music lover here... most kinds of music, from all different eras, and THIS is my very favorite song, and mix of all time. It's.... MY LIFE! The most beautiful sounds and tune along with the most meaningful words as well.

One of my favorite songs of all time, without question. And from the first time I ever heard it back in what, '83? Have this version on 12' vinyl and several others on CD. This is the best version for sure. Man, I miss the days of hitting the independent record store circuit every weekend looking for 12" remixes. My favorite thing in the whole world at the time. Couldn't wait to get home for a listen.

damn, I've never heard this extended mix before. Its awesome. The original 7" version is so brilliant but it needs the 12" treatment to bring out the awesome production, and unlike other 12" mixes, it doesnt get boring at all because the song is so f*cking good. Thanks for posting this.

Mark Hollis has such a unique voice. "It's My Life" is one of the ultimate 80's tracks and the extended version is even better. No Doubt covered it and brought it back to a new generation, but Talk Talk's version is still the best version ever. "Funny how I find myself in love with you. It's my life! Don't you forget. It's my life! It never ends." Awesome lyrics!
