I know a lot of musicians that complain about 80s music not being great and this is always one of my go to bands.

The intro in this live version is actually from another song called Chameleon Day from the same album as Living in Another World. The whole album is amazing. I’m so glad we have this video of them performing live as I never got the chance myself.

Color of Spring is an absolute and absolutely magnificent album. Some of the greatest artists are drawn to the beauty that emanates from things and their ephemeral aspect. Mark Hollis reminds us of this and has captured this fragility better than anyone with his powerful lyrics and haunting voice... Thank you for this moment...

The guitarist here in Montreux is called John Turnbull... great solos, Talk Talk basically consists of Mark Hollis, Paul Webb on bass, and Lee Harris on drums

Accompanied only by a minimalist piano, Mark Hollis sings like an enlightened man: Soar the bridges that I burnt, then adds: before, in a whisper that requires the proof of the lyrics in the booklet to be sure you've understood correctly. Hi Rory, there are many great talk talk songs for you to discover, 2 that I would recommend are "after the flood" and "happiness is easy"

My favourite band of all time, so i'm thoroughly chuffed at your return. The really ground breaking stuff is contained within their last two albums. These are 'Spirit Of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock', music of an indescribable beauty that was simply impossible to perform live. If you decide to head there, your only choice is to play the songs, minus any visual distraction. I advise you to take the plunge, especially if you want to hear music that reduces Radiohead to a relatively normal pop band. Meanwhile, kudos for continuing on the road less taken! R.I.P Mark Hollis.

The only thing wrong with the 80's music is the idiots who haven't really listened to it. Mark Hollis had a fantastic voice. All on that stage are super musicians. I especially love the drummer, Lee Harris. He just kicks ass on that drum set and he's that animated on every song they did.

Talk Talk are astonishing live, but i prefer the studio version of this song as you're missing an incredible harmonica solo.
