A24 bought the film, the Aussie twins racka racka did all the hard work, or though does fit in with a24s previous movies

@@Goocsh Exactly, A24 saw the potential and allowed racka racka to make the movie with no changes, just the way they wanted. Other studios tried to get them to make huge changes, including recasting the lead which would have been a horrible mistake.

@@FamousCoozie⁠ A24 bought the movie’s distributing rights for the US after it premiered at sundance, the movie was already made by local aussie companies and had been shown at a number of festivals prior to sundance. But yeah it definitely fits A24’s vibe and being attached to them definitely helps for exposure

Mia didn’t sacrifice herself. If Mia had sacrificed herself, Jade would’ve been in the street consoling Mia. Jade was holding her brother, not even acknowledging the dead Mia in the street. Jade pushed her to save her brother.

I think Riley’s sister makes it down in time and pushed Mia in front of the car to save Riley instead of Mia sacrificing herself for him

Yes! If you look at the scene of the car crashing in slow motion, you can see that the sister pushes her to save Riley.

The sister probably pushed her. She's at the brother's side at the end. And a prequel is already in the works. In fact they shot footage when they were making the first.

i never noticed the first time watching but Jade pushed Mia into traffic, she doesn’t jump .. u can see it for a brief second before impact .. i think Mia realizes once her mom starts talking to her that she’s being tricked so she lets go .. but Jade just wanting to protect her brother didn’t bother talking and just killed her

That would also make it one of the only times in the film one of the teens actively does something to protect someone else who has used the hand, rather than standing by/ filming/ yelling ‘no’

I feel accomplished playing a part in getting y’all to watch this sorryy for the trauma lovess😂 this movie really is cinematically well done and an amazing theater experience. I still can’t believe KZfaqrs made something of this caliber. Part 2 was already greenlit just weeks after its release and I can’t wait to see the route they take. sidenote: I have no recommendations buttttt I really can’t wait for Octobers Halloween segment I hope you guys contribute the 2 Rob Zombie movies (not connected to the latest trilogy) but still two of the best films Micheal has been seen in!

omg this is the 10th reaction video to this movie i’ve seen - i literally edited mine for upload just earlier this week lol 😂 loved your reaction so much guys I WAS SCARED SH!TLESS during Riley’s scene, has me so pissed no one was grabbing the hand or at least his HEADDD. unsettling and frustrating… i’m hoping for prequel/sequel and i think it’s already green lit!

Too unsetteling for me and not one I would watch again that being said very good acting,writing and directing to make us as the ones seeing it feel those emotions. I do like how it is a way of showing the dangers of doing drugs but also touches on the pain of loosing someone you love and depression as well. Grate reactions as always guys.

I like the subtle clues in the film that they mention the girl’s boyfriend is a Christian and all the spirits hate him and mess with him during the film, which is a clue the spirits were really demons from hell. She didn’t sacrifice herself, the sister saved her brother in time before Mia could kill both of them and the demons get both souls.

From my point of view the spirits were clever! They were pushing her to kill riley to end his suffering which was a lie, ducketts brother said it will weaken on its own but the spirits knew that so they tried to manipulate them both with what riley and mia knew about each other.

I think if you blow the candle before removing the hand, the spirit is trapped in you. If the candle is the door, and the spirit is inside us... wouldnt closing that door just keep it in? So you have to remove the hand first then the canle

Its weird when you see a horror movie like this where it's super full on and also adds a weird layer of realism when its in your own accent. When horror movies image in an American accent I can add some distance but this one was...a lot.

The fake Mia dad had White eyes that is how you could tell it was not the real one and it showed he was in the living room when she thought her dad was banging the door
