@52:40 Hey I was at Origins running demos of Sailpower and TechCommander! Sea Dog Game Studios is another Indie game publisher, Brian Carnes does most of the work, the rest of us put in what effort we can as playtesters, GMs, painters, terrain builders, etc. SDGS is Brian, his wife Elizabeth, Ed Wedig (graphics design), Dave Oberting (Senior GM and Stats Monkey) and Yours Truly. We're an independent game company with a set of products unlike anything anyone currently has out!

Real late to the discussion: I think folks too often confuse an indie dev and indie publisher when discussing "is it indie." Osprey Miniature Games are usually Indie Devs instead of in house work. Afaik Mike can take Gaslands to another company if needed, and has published content with Electi's Blaster for it previously. The Weasel games are in the same boat with Modiphious of Indie Dev/ Non-Indie Pub. Seperately there are indie publishers, like Space Penguin Ink or, arguably, Exalted Funeral, who are just a handful of people publishing cool things regardless of sales metrics. A believe the IP note doesn't work every time as River Horse Games was just Alessio Cavatore before merging w/ Mantic.

Ash just reviewed one of the coolest games I've seen maybe ever. It's called mortal gods (Greek mythical/historical) it had some really fantastic mechanics. Size between army and skirmish. Alt activations actions allowed are determined by drawing a colored stone from a bag. About $200 all in.... And there are harpies!

Bit late to watch, but since you just mentioned it and I just saw it, the "Back Room" for This is Not a Test 2.0 is live on the Blacksite Studio site ATM... looks fun... i'm not 100% sold on the style of the miniatures but they do like nice... definitely going to pick up the PDF if not the physical book!

Love the Blackout game idea and minis, just costed an order to the UK and the shipping for an approx £150 order was £52 which made it prohibitive, awaiting a UK based supplier

I believe they offer free shipping for orders over a certain amount but I’m not sure if that offer extends to the UK

have you checked out lancer? really cool combat focused indie ttrpg made by two guys, very cool lore and worldbuilding thats really fun to dive into and indepth mech combat. Tom Bloom, one of the creators, also has an insane webcomic called Kill 6 Billion Demons, his art style is incredible

Bangarang in the Gutterlands is pretty interesting mainly because it's almost mandatory to make your own minis in the same way as Gaslands. I do have a question though, which is have you ever ventured into playing games outside the normal scale of 25-32mm? Maybe it's because I've been researching it, but I've noticed a rise in popularity in smaller scale games like Argatoria by Spellcrow.

I'm still considering Relic Blade which I feel is Indy. However, I have multiple mini games on my table that I'm not playing as it is.

Relic blade is awesome! Quick and interesting scenarios. Official print and play items are available with Sean’s unique art style. Could try it that way. There is also a free demo pnp version too!

Thank you for these every other Sunday shows…I enjoy them. However, the volume has been VERY low compared to all other KZfaq vids for a while. It’s literally about 1/2 the volume of any other video I watch. Is that possible to fix on your own end? Thanks

Origins was pretty awesome except the conquest booth. The guys there were being jerks for no reason and clearly didn't want to be there. I asked if one of the sets I was looking at is on their website and he said "No it's right here in front of your face."

Hey, you should have come down to booth #1019! We would have loved to show you our games and minis. We're Sea Dog Game Studios and we are as Indie as they come, we've written out own rules, published our own books, and even developed out own lines of miniatures. All out of Brian's living room

@@trollpaintingminis4496 nope. I didn't even see that! When you work a convention, you don't get to see a lot of cool stuff other than your own cool stuff. Last year I did a static display with our old 28mm playset, it had a Dropship, cargo carrier, and some mecha firing rockets/missiles and popping up with their jumpjets, this year I was chained to the booth running fast-play demos.
