If viewers of this YT clip have not heard this musician play, you might listen to the Billy Strings Concert at Red Rock, CO. Mr. Failing interviews in a modest way, but he's really in a class of "top 1%" professional players.

He’s humble enough not to brag on himself all the time like other top 1%ers! He keeps things real!

Great interview. When can we expect a Billy Failing tab book? I'd love to learn some of the breaks and backup you play with the Strings band.

This is awesome! I have been watching Billy's playing for a while now and find it incredible. Billy Failing is as good on the banjo as Billy Strings is on the guitar. I am looking forward to seeing Billy and Billy at a concert in September! Bought tickets and cannot wait!

Love Billy’s playing. So good to see these guys honoring the traditional bluegrass, yet expanding it to new highs. I am 58 and some of the new stuff is not my favorite but I need to let it grow on me. Bring Mr. Monroe back as a young guy these guys age and I bet he would be doing the same stuff.

One of the greatest musicians on the planet. Nice to put a conversational voice to such a stellar performer.

Great in depth video , about a guy I have listened to for a few years but knew very little about. Thanks both of you for taking the time!

This is amazing. So glad I found your channel. I fell into bluegrass after thru-hiking the Appalachian trail and found such soul in it. Like Billy, yonder mountain and Bela are some of my top motivators but now its Billy as well! His solo stuff is amazing and I really hope it blows up. I've been learning the banjo for about a year and a half and super glad I found all of this, great for intermediate study/practice. Keep doing interviews like this if possible! Reach out to Kyle Tuttle!

Failing appears to have worked hard on his development over the years he's played with BMFS Band. His contribution to their sound is as important as any member's. Seems like a good kid, too.
