Soooo...one month later and I'm back again. When this vid popped up in my feed a month ago (because KZfaq knows I'm in brain-love with Trevor Noah), I had heard of Mayor Pete and kinda liked him but had only done surface layer research on him. This vid really lit my curiosity, and I've been watching and reading everything I can get my hands on about this amazing person, including his book. After watching hour-long interviews, debates moderated by premium journalists, "hardball" interrogations by enemy commentators, etc., I'm back here to Trevor because this is still the best, least-rehearsed, most-revealing interview I've seen of Pete. Partly that's Pete, but mostly that's Trevor Noah. He's blessed with mad skills for putting people at ease and drawing out their most authentic selves. Thank you, Trevor Noah, for introducing me to (hopefully) our next president.

I love that he's not simply trying to blame people who voted Trump or allowed Trump to be elected. He understands that people are unhappy with the establishment, and he's trying to get his message across: not that the Republicans are the boogeyman, but that we acknowledge the problems our country is facing, and I have solutions for these problems. Mayor Pete was the best surprise of these primaries.

So smooth with his talking points and of course he didn't practice the part at 6:50. Also a lot of his answers he says its complicated but doable, that doesn't instill faith a whole lot that he can do it or knows what he's talking about. Rewatch the video and see how deeply he goes into detail about with answers.

Peter it's seriously the most thoughtful articulate person I have listened to. I personally do not see this kind of speech in every day life. When I found out he was gay, I felt a bit sad. Not because he is gay. I applaud him being open. I felt sad because there are a lot of ignorant people who will not give him a chance because of his sexuality. I really do hope he keeps trying even if he doesn't make it this time.

Only if we do our part: talk to our loved ones about what we see and like about him + donate to his campaign. Its crucial for us to donate now so the numbers of money raised for the upcoming quarter sends a LOUD shock wave across the media, so they start covering him a lot more and take him that much more seriously!

R E, you’re right about that, I do hate Trump as he is a piece of human trash. On the other hand, I agree with some of his policies, and like you, I do want economic stability, but economic success at the cost of greater social divide prompted by his hateful rhetoric is not worth it. Economic recovery will always happen after a downturn; social gaps take generations to close, if they ever do. As for my 401k, it’s up 16% this year but lost 12% last year; another indicator that our markets always self-correct. I’m averaging 8% gains over the last 10 years. If you bet on the stock market long term, you’ll always win, regardless of who the WH tenant is. ✌🏻

In every city in the US--not just South Bend--there has been an incident where a non-black police officer has shot an armed black man when responding to a call regarding a theft in progress . Mayor Pete is doing everything he can to prevent that from happening again. Should Mayor deBlasio get New York City “in order” before he runs for President? Should Senators Sanders, Warren, Harris, Booker, Klobuchar, Gillebrand, and Bennet all get the Senate in order before they run? Should Representatives Gabbard, Ryan, and Swalwell get the House in order before they run? Should Inslee get the state of Washington in order before he runs? That would leave only the candidates without serious day jobs, like Hicklooper, Castro, O’Rourke, Biden, Delaney, and Yang. Not a good plan.
