Totally agree. As a drummer, I love playing along to this, super tight, no nonsense or OTT drum fills, and there is a real funky groove to everything he plays.

I saw Jerry on the Casual Gods tour in 1988. Steve Scales, Alex Weir and Bernie Worrel from the big TH line-up were in his band, as was Ernie Brooks. When they played "Roadrunner" it brought down the fucking house! One of the best shows I've ever seen.

The band broke up in 91, so this performance in 2002 was only 11 years post break up. It has now been nearly twice as long, and they'll probably never perform again together.

Unfortunately, that's never going to happen. Shortly after their induction, there were initial talks of a reunion, but when Jerry followed back up with David, he told him "I am never getting the Talking Heads back together!"

Again, not intrinsically bad things. He's made it clear that he views the Talking Heads as "his band," and "his band" is broken up and that's that. Dude's a bonafide musical genius and it comes with the territory.

And as an autistic person myself, it's very difficult to fully cooperate and commit to a group activity like a band or similar, especially for such a long time, and especially when music tastes change over the years between members. It's no surprise that there would be friction between the members, but even then it's definitely not entirely David's fault, as supposedly David and Jerry are still on good terms, but same cannot be said for David and Chris/Tina which makes you wonder if it really was entirely David's fault like the TomTom pair say.

I saw David Byrne’s American Utopia Tour in 2018 and I am still coming to terms with how stunning and amazing it was!

I think it’s best that way, they’ll never recreate what they had at the time but David has performed Talking Heads songs in recent times and they’ve been amazing

It Wasn’t sad for him. The ones who complain the most were Tina and her hubby Chris because they wanted to keep making money even though they made enough with their Tom Tom Club. They boasted that they made enough with that band to put their kids through college so how much money did they need?But I guess they wanted more. …. It’s true you have to have a lot of money to live in Fairfield Connecticut.So they started trashing on David after he didn’t want to record or perform with them anymore because they knew they didn’t have as much talent as he did And they knew they couldn’t make as much money without him. He WAS the Talking Heads. They just wanted to use him to get richer. He was smart enough to realize that. Tina Weymouth made all these snarky comments about him like that he “didn’t understand what friendship was.” She doesn’t either. She’s just a user. He was 10 times more intelligent and talented than she was. She’s a mediocre bass player at best and that’s about all she’s got
