Right at 19:50 during "Once In A Lifetime" the camera pulls back and you see Bernie Worrel's right hand in the foreground. And then you realize that his right hand has been doing that little four note run for the entire duration of the song. No sampling, no digital assistance. Just a musician playing music like a fuckin' boss. Along with everyone else on the stage. I saw this performed live at the Wolman Skating Rink in Central Park back in 1980. What a punchy, clear, tasty bass sound from Tina Weymouth - the best live venue bass sound I’ve ever heard. Sure Jones might've been technically better, but Tina's melodic Motown-influenced bass lines were so great for the band and helped make the music so distinctive. I saw them on the US leg of this tour. They were at the top of their game. Those first three albums were off the charts.

There is something so wonderfully "strange-perfect" about Tina's bass playing in "Animals". Just goes to show you don't have to be a technical virtuoso to be a virtuoso of style, taste, texture, etc. Incredible music!

I interviewed Adrian for Drum! magazine after he played electronic drums on the fourth King Crimson album and he was such a cool, down to earth guy. He had just produced the christian rock album for Jars of Clay that was the biggest seller in that genre at the time... i mean, what hasn't this guy done!??

So King Crimson's 4th album was 'Islands' in the early 70's. As far as i know he didn't join the band until 'Discipline' in the early 80's . I;m not trolling you or anything just trying to figure out which record you meant as I didn't know he played electronic drums on their records. The 4th King Crimson Record he was on, not counting live was 'Thrak' and I don't see him doing drums on that one. Anyways, if you are still around, hopefully you can tell me which record. Cool that you got to meet him and interview him. He's one of my fav musicians. I also have a lot of old drum magazines I should go back through. Thanks

He produced Jars of Clay? Wow, I know the name but not the music. Interesting

Check out Jars of Clay's "Liquid" & "Flood" - these tracks were produced by Belew.

@@yellowclouds3722 yup~! He's a very "buoyant" personality, all upside and wonder. He got the best out of them for sure he's a very innovative inquisitive dude and it shows in the music.

@@blondegirlsezthis8798 Indeed! A pure joy watching him play. Great personality as a singer, e.g. early 1980s King Crimson etc.
