I want to get one but I've heard the latency is a problem and the CPU will max out very quickly with any kind of complex routine, I've seen videos of people just loading an amp, cab and reverb and the CPU is almost maxed, was this your experience? If you can answer honestly.

I always answer honestly! Nobody pays me. I loved it, however the latency was an issue sometimes. I figured out ways, through trial and error, to avoid maxing out the CPU to get what I needed but you definitely have to be careful and judicious with your choices. That said, a lot of plugins (which is really what they are) are unnecessary IMO in this box if it couldn't process them, ya' know? I had a fairly complicated chain of 23 effects running around 89% CPU at one point which is a lot. It just depends what you absolutely need. I wouldn't go over 85-90% CPU with this. There are occasional spikes. Hope that helps.

Great video. You seem to be very familiar with the unit and with your set-up, you'd probably notice the issue with what I'm about to ask: the noise. I'm seriously considering getting the Dwarf, because while I'm primarily a guitar player, I don't need a million amp sims, I hate cables, I'm kinda tired of pedalboards, and other all-in-one box solutions that I'd consider, like HX Stomp, Boss GT, etc. - while likely better at being a guitar sim, are narrow in comparison (they don't have step sequencers or CV clocks inside, etc.). With my minimalistic approach, I may actually be able to entirely recreate what I do in the studio with this one box, which a guitar-specific FX unit can't do. However, the noise reports are the one thing that gets me a bit discouraged. Have you encountered any issues in that department? If so, did you manage to solve them?

No noise issues at all for me. Ever. I keep up with all the updates though too so...

Hi sir do you also have the zoia? If yes have you compared the two?

Yes, I do. They are different animals but for my purposes I prefer the Dwarf. It's much easier to navigate. The Zoia is slightly better to get weird with.

@@EdPettersen Thanks for the reply. Looks like I will sell the Zoia. I think I found what I need in the Dwarf. Don't want to sell Zoia but I need to sell one of them.

@@dewberry3043 My pleasure. I loved the Zoia, a lot, but it was much harder to manage and the Dwarf just does more for about the same price. Good luck!!

Oh geez, I don't remember but I think there was. I never used it but I think I did mess with a preset somebody made using it once.

@Boi Mesa Nope. Sold it about a year ago when they filed for bankruptcy. I see they're back in business though.

@@EdPettersen the definitely are but I don't see why you'd stop using it? It's like if boss would go bankrupt and you sell Ure GT1000...??? 😅

@Boi Mesa Boss ain't going bankrupt but in this case updates and new software were a big selling point. And anyways, I wanted something with better amp modeling which I found with Quad Cortex. YMMV.
