Getting shown up by a UV5R is awkward. Good testing and video production. Thumbs up and subbed. I saw a video on another site that claimed they addressed this and have been sending out "fixed" units. If so, I might have to pick up a pair. As you pointed out, the screen is amazing compared to the UV5R and the USB C charging makes this a winner. Thanks for sharing this with us.

My contact at TalkPod WAS sending me out an updated radio, but then they stopped shipment when they realized that the issue was a little more than what they thought. An "updated" radio was apparently sent to Josh at HRCC, and his live stream test showed that it still had issues. TalkPod said they will send me one when they have addressed it, but that it might be a while. Thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing!!! It is much appreciated!

Hi, I've noticed the same issue! I heard they're now positioning it mainly as a GMRS radio in the U.S. market. Also, from what I've gathered, after September, they've made improvements to address the Spurious Emissions issue. Maybe you could try reaching out to them for more background or an updated unit to review? Thanks for the insightful video, it's very helpful!

The Radio was originally a GMRS radio that most people figured out the simple hacks to open the radio to truly get on the HAM bands. That is why I believe it only comes with a 70cm or GMRS antenna. Mine has no markings under the battery which leads me to believe they knew it would fail at certain test. It was an Amazon but also. But I do hold a GMRS lic. and will use it in the capacity most often.

Yes, I agree. Their updated version seems to actually be OK on 2M now. I did a quick follow up video on this radio, and showed the updated harmonics and carrier. They seemed to fix some things, but possible introduce another anomaly. Thanks for watching! 73
