My friends wife was due to go into hospital in April 2020 for cancer treatment. It got cancelled due to lockdown. While the nurses made tictok videos she died in agony. I hate the NHS. It needs to be sold off to anyone brave enough to bid on it.

My brother, went to his GP when he lost his voice, he was constantly fobbed off with acid reflux or laryngitis diagnosis, this was in 2021 not sure on exact dates, 6 months or so later he went to A&E with his problem on the advice of his wife's doctor, after examination by doctors at the hospital it was suspected throat cancer, all through his illness he had the worst treatment, he did have most of it removed, just a few spores left they said which could be treated with radiotherapy, problem was that he needed a mask moulding onto his face which would mean he would have to lay on his back, he had breathing problems and just could not lay on his back long enough to have the mask fitted, the hospital never came up with a solution, we don't have a clue as to why the mask could not have been moulded whilst he sat up, he passed away nearly 12 months ago now, his throat covered in cancer growth inside and out, his GP was pretty much useless in the first place...

My wife died a few hours into the new year after a 2 year battle against bile duct cancer. Excellent care in hospital, only delayed slightly by the abyssmal covid testing lie, but frankly GPs are not much use these days. It is hard to fathom what they actually do.

are you aware of the women taking turmeric and 50000 i.u daily d3 for and arrested pancreatic cancer after doctors told her to make funeral arrangements a? i can give you link if you want. 50000 i.u pancreatic cancer . A woman with pancreatic cancer decided from the internet to take 50,000 IU of vitamin D daily She got her Vitamin D level to >150 ng 10 months later, without radiation therapy and with only one dose of Chemo she was well and without symptoms The researchers refered to her condition as "stabillized", but it seems more than stabilized, since her health improved The researchers were considering a trial for % "cured" with extremly high doses of vitamin D No clinical trials listed for Pancreatic Cancer with >4,000 IU of Vitamin D as of June 2018, 2 years after publication of the study Note The MS Vitamin D dosing (see below) needed to get to individuals to 150 ng ranged from 20,000 to 140,000 IU daily

My wife's Doctor fobbed her off for two years with misdiagnosis of her symptoms, it wasn't until we went private that she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My wife lasted 10 months and passed away in April 2023, she was an NHS nurse for 40 years and was failed by the organisation she loved and served so professionally and compassionately. The NHS has failed my Wife and my family.

Do not blame the Government or lack of funding. Take it from me they have the Best of equipment and facilities, the problem lies with so many restrictive practises that allow Doctors & Nurses to carve up the service for there own advantage. In my wife's case she could not get an CT scan because the radiologists do not work the weekends ! nor could we get it annotated by a radiologist until my wifes health had deteriorated to the point she was dying. It is down rite deceitful to blame the Government or funding of the NHS, simply its just so badly run its beyond saving.

I have a medical background but I am not a medical doc and I lost a friend on 3 August - 2 days after his birthday last year to lung cancer. He kept being told it was long covid, then it was a chest infection. I was asked to check him over, which I did - the red flags were blindingly obvious! I told him in no uncertain terms that he needed to go to A&E and needed an X-ray urgently which he did. He was also diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He had been in & out of the GP's office for 8 months! It's disgusting! I fight & refer my patients all the time with what we call 'red flags' - I shouldn't be doing this - this is the job of a GP!

This is my complaint as well. The ads on tv say go to your doctor but if your symptoms continue after a few weeks and a chemist can't give you something to make you feel better and get complete relief you need a hospital. B12 for instance can end up life threatening if not treated and your daily life is impacted greatly. A lot of tests show in the normal range but don't end up to be in the end. The hospitals are short of doctors and nurses but short of equipment as well...especially items that actually work. This Govt has run things into the ground with their total mismanagement.

@eyeswideopen7777 there's probably lots of causes, but a lot of the funds get spent on managers, so not filtering down to the point of contact and spent on stupid unnecessary woke type stuff as well. In lockdown, it was impossible to see a doctor so a lot went undiagnosed and untreated - people have died - and ailments people have now are often worse than if they'd been caught earlier and as a result, waiting lists/backlogs are huge. We currently have/have had staff including junior doctors striking and wanting huge rises while people can't get an appointment. Ambulances for some reason can't unload patients so spend hours stuck with people they can't drop off and waiting times for urgent calls are anywhere upwards of 12 hours if they come at all. There's massive illegal immigration via the channel adding pressure although they get medical helicopters and hotels costing to the tune of £7million A DAY. It's all gone to pot.

@@GG-zl3et In the US, most people have insurance. There is plenty that can be improved in the US system, mostly getting rid of government controls. The biggest problem with any public system is that you can dump billions more into a govt system and there is no accountability to make sure money is actually going into care instead of bureaucracy. Why is it people only call for more money and not look at how much waste there is? Where are the promises that the govt will make good use of any extra money they get? And maybe you can afford dying in an emergency room or waiting so long for cancer care it's too late to save you, but I prefer a system where the govt can't force me to wait to death. I just can't imagine being forced to pay for healthcare with my taxes and being told to make my funeral arrangements because the govt won't let me get care in time to save my life.

This is very upsetting. Yet we have people arriving in this country who get to see a dr or medical team as soon as they arrive, and apparently twice a week too! We're headed into a third world country, health isn't a priority for our government, only wokism and diversity is. Someone who identifies as a transgender is more likely to receive treatment within days yet someone with serious issues are left. Is age a contributing factor... I believe it is, they want to get rid of the old as we're a burden! The receptionists do not have a license to practice medicine and this needs to be addressed too. I wish this lady love and may she find herself on a beautiful path into her next journey.

Over one year later he still breathes along with us all, yet, no worthwhile action can be issued against the guilty party, in the opinion of a local solicitor. They M**DERED my mum like this. She was meant to have a routine operation as an outpatient in April 2020. She had water retention that needed draining. The George Eliot in Nuneaton phoned her up two days into the scam and cancelled it. Her date came and went. In mid May 2020 she lost her balance from going dizzy and fell in the living room and bashed the back of her head on the TV cabinet. For a week, she had vertigo issues. She called herself an ambulance which took her to the same hospital. IT WAS EMPTY! They put her in ICU on day 1 and gave her a video link to my brother and I which showed the ICU to be less than half full with no rushing around. This was the 26th May 2020 at the height of the lies. Day 2 they moved mum to the Melly Ward - the ONLY ward in the entire hospital that was operational. My brother and I were given 30 mins each to "say our goodbyes" because they told us she wasn't going to make it. They STILL RFEFUSED TO OPERATE citing that the government had told them "nothing but C one NINEs". My brother refused to leave her side. I came and went multiple times per day, looking after mum's dogs and running my business. The hospital plied her with morphene and midazolam and left her to drown in her own body. at 2am on the 1st June 2020, she died. But it's ok because AT LEAST ALL THE MEDICAL TEAMS GOT TO DANCE ON TIKTOK AND GET CLAPPED ON A THURSDAY!!

But people are already dying from not receiving care, or receiving delayed care, in America - just for different reasons. The only difference is that here, this happens because people don't have access to healthcare at all because they have no insurance, or because many people with insurance delay their care because they can't afford the astronomical bills. Lots of Americans either receive no care at all and die because of it, or they only receive care once their illness has gotten so bad that they end up in the emergency room...and then they die. In America, this woman's story would present itself as someone who couldn't get the scan because they couldn't afford it; or it would be someone who only got the scan in the emergency room after their cough became unbearable. On top of the fact that their condition is now worse because they couldn't afford care earlier, now they have a $500 ambulance bill, plus a hospital bill.

I have a genetic heart condition and heart failure. I actually LOVE my insurance that I pay for through my job. I receive speedy, high quality care at a world class hospital at costs that are affordable for me...but that's only because I make enough money to afford it. When I was diagnosed, I paid almost $300 for the cardiac MRI that diagnosed me. I also now take 7 pills everyday, so am paying monthly for multiple prescriptions. That's in addition to my monthly costs for the insurance itself. A lot of people could never afford this. And I realize that I never have to wait for my care only because so many others never receive care at all, which frees up time and resources in hospitals. That's seriously messed up. Not sure how you think that's any better than what the UK is doing. Morally, it's worse than what they're doing, and our health outcomes are worse than theirs, as well. At least, in the UK, they're *trying* to offer care to the most people. In America, we don't even try, because we treat people as if it's their fault that they were born and need healthcare to stay alive. We treat healthcare as if it's a luxury, or something that's optional. The UK is a healthier country than the US overall, which is ridiculous, since we have access to better healthcare than they do and are a richer country overall. We have the best healthcare in the world (I'm referring to technology, quality of doctors, and treatments), yet you could never tell by looking at the state of our health. Many people just cannot afford to access our best-in-the-world resources.

My GP is still hiding from Covid. Appointments are by phone call, and the only time you are told to come to the surgery is to see a nurse. Patient files are not kept up to date, and I do know I am not alone on that one... He is quite happy to keep taking his rather large salary though?

Socialized medicine is collapsing in 🇨🇦 as well. People die in emerg waiting to be seen. Diagnostic bloodwork or scans very hard to access. It’s a system run by bean counters, not doctors. However, if you want medical assistance in dying, Trudeau will be delighted to make that happen pronto. I’m guessing NHS is watching closely .

My father was diagnosed with the same disease as Katherine in late December 2018. We waited all through January 2019 for a hospital appointment with the Oncologist...no reply. February came & went..also with no reply, by the beginning of March we were becoming frantic & we contacted his GP who assured us that they would look in to it immediately...2 weeks later no reply. By then we were almost in to April & he had received no lung cancer treatment whatsoever, this time we physically visited both his GP surgery & the local hospital to demand an explanation. My dad received a letter from his GP approx. one week later apologising that his hospital referral had been found in the bottom of a drawer...it had never been sent. By the time the Oncologist assessed my dad the cancer had metastasized everywhere & he died in January 2020.

That is APPALLING! My situation was minor - a referral from my optician to pass on their findings to my doctor - so he then would create a hospital appointment with a consultant. The receptionist didn’t pass their letter on having filed it away by mistake. That wasted three months. Three appointments were made - two cancelled by the hospital - in all I have waited over TWO AND A HALF YEARS to see a consultant.

My heart goes out to this beautiful lady. How brave of her to go on air to highlight the huge cracks in the system, whilst not seeking any special treatment or compensation. My uncle recently passed. The incompetence of the GPs signing off his cause of death, which was subsequently challenged and proven to be incorrect and the service from the coroner's office, which has been placed on special measures due to the poor service, demonstrates where we are at with the entire system. It is so overstretched and for those at the very top of the tree, who have allowed our health system to get into this state, they should hold their heads in shame - but they won't. I pray for this lady that she doesn't suffer too much pain with the time that she has left. 😢

Our healthcare is heading backwards, how long before it's on a par with 3rd world healthcare ? I used to feel reassured following doctor appointments, I used to be confident I would get the best care possible. Now I feel dismissed, not listened to, uncared for and generally neglected. Not that i get to actually see a doctor very often, consultation, diagnosis and prescribing all done via a telephone call. I'm not alone in feeling this way, it seems to be the same for the majority of people I speak to. Bevan must be turning in his grave

My wife in the last 6 years has fought through stage 4 bowel cancer, liver and lympnodes cancer she had to have half of her large bowel removed a stoma bag on her side then a stoma reversal and chemotherapy, then at the start of covid we were told her cancer had spread so she was then diagnosed with metastatic bowel cancer in both lungs we treated her through diet and herbaly up until xmas when she contacted a chest infection that sent her cancer haywire, February 18th started chemo again and it has shrunk all 12 of her tumors we only got told 2 months ago that it was back in her liver and lympnodes in her shoulders but it is under control, however while all of this is going on my wife now coughs so much it makes her vomit it turns out that her left lung is collapsed... the oncology team passed us over to respiratory and they have done nothing, they would not even see my wife apparently they don't do that? also wouldn't tell us what was happening? this time after complaining we were told "they didn't want to scare us"? Bastards the lot of them my wife's currently losing 1kg per week as most of the food she eats she throws up it horrific im having to slowly watch my beautiful wife waste away infront of my eyes. She's lost 4 stone since starting chemotherapy again and at this rate bye the time someone has been bothered to help her she may be too weak and it may be too late, I've been in touch with a private hospital to get a second opinion nothing offered from Doncaster NHS we only got called back as I have lodged an official complaint as I believe that they are withholding medical treatment because her notes state she is palative care........ Within weeks of having a positive result from a bowel cancer screening test I had a colon camera inserted which found a suspicious lesion. Within weeks of this I had MRI and CT scans which showed colon cancer. Very soon afterwards I was admitted to hospital where I underwent a 6 hours operation to remove it. 5 weeks later I have received the news that the operation was a complete success I am now cancer free. Still got a couple of months to go before I get rid of the Stoma bag and have the Stoma reversed but a small discomfort for the fantastic results. I can't praise our NHS highly enough.

The choice to stop processing cancer cases/checks during lockdown always was a disgraceful decision, there were other options. Lady is absolutely right, the people working in the NHS today do not care in the same way as they used to. She also hit on the main issue around waiting lists, yes they need to recruit more doctors (getting rid of half of the waste of space managers and using their wages would be a start) but also a huge number of doctors don't work full-time hours. They're doing private work on the side - for more money on top of their NHS pay. It would be interesting to know just how many GP's and hospital based docs are doing this. I bet banning this practice would also help. God bless that lady and her family.
