I phoned the doctors the other week. After being on the line for 20 minutes with no answer, I decided to go to the surgery myself. When I got there, there was one patient in the waiting room and the doctor was having a cup of Tea or Coffee with the receptionist. It’s a joke.

I remember the summer of 1976. It snowed on mayday and then it hardly rained till October. We had stand pipes on most streets and we were banned from watering our gardens. It was a brilliant summer.
