I do NOT want Ruddy. We need to stop signing 3rd / 4th choice keepers that we know aren't good enough to push for a 1st team place. I'd much rather us load up on youth keepers.

My only issue with being "garaunteed #1" in a contract could have repercussions. What if they want, in writing that HE decides if he plays, not Eddie. Id love to know the specifics involved

I get behind every player Newcastle sign, even Calvert-Lewin if we'd have gone down that road but surely we are better than Ruddy. I predicted this would be a very frustrating transfer window for us and the players we are linked with thus far are probably more realistic than some fans want to believe. Relegated teams, lower premier league teams and the odd young foreign player are possibly our only options when looking to build.

@@JJSpence15 I understand that. But, it we did sell, clear possible PSR BS in the due course, we'd be in a potential position to get someone of a similar quality calibre but younger. It's all hypothetical bud.

@rogercookcouk Hypothetical or not, I just don't think Schar is even in the top Ten players we would get rid of. PSR will help us move on some but I just can't see it. One of our best players and 10m isn't a head Turner. Trips, Wilson, Minteh, Longstaff, Almiron, Dubs.. these are all likely gone in the window and that helps massively with PSR

How can we get him out? Won’t be easy unless we have a poor performance this season. So you’ll need to wait at least until next May
