In August 2018 I was interviewed on my roof by Jussi Penttinen, a Finnish devotee who in recent times has been responsible for collating and uploading the subtitles that appear in many different languages on my KZfaq channel. Jussi filmed his questions separately while he was standing on the Arunachala pradakshina road. During the talks he was accompanied by his friend Jukka Korhonen who filmed the replies and later edited the films. Thanks to both of them.

This is one of the best discussions of the realities of sadhana I've ever heard. Every single person who aspires to get serious about their spiritual search should hear this. This is so valuable it should be transcribed and published verbatim. Thank you so much, David!

Self enquiry is very powerful tool that I have came across. David has explained it so wonderfully in his videos that if anyone is serious to do it , one can learn and do it perfectly. It is a direct attack to your 'I' which is the hurdle in getting nearer to Self. Only thing is a person should be extremely vigilent while doing self enquiry , else he is carried away by thoughts very easily.

Thank you so much for this new set of videos!🙌 Again more people finding their way towards The Grace of Arunachala...🙏 Dear Sir Davidji, I have one question for you and I noticed that you're now following these comments, so: Can you tell what is the history of two little rooms next to the samadhi hall? They are now full of pictures of Bhagavan. I'm asking because in those rooms I felt the presence of Bhagavan almost the same way as in the Old Hall. I think you've told something about them in your previous videos, but I haven't found that clip again, even though i've been watching them many times... Thank you very much already for your kind response! And also for everything that you've done in the past decades to all humanity and Divine, The Self is working in the most beautiful and powerful ways thru "you". I'm one of the thousands who have found their way to Arunachala (and Nisargadattas teachings) via your videos. (Even though i had heard about Ramana before, your output was very essential on my path) Also I want to thank Jussi & Jukka! There are clear signs along the path that signify it's working long before final realization. Probably somewhat spoiled westerners consider the specific difficulties arising as _"not working"_ when traditionally these difficulties are actually signs that _"it is"_ working ! For westerners I would, as an introduction and enhancement of Ramana's vichara recommend Douglas Harding's headless way ( _"On Having No Head"_ ) together with particularly Culadasa's systematic teaching on Vipassana ( _"The Illuminated Mind"_ ).

If we ask a question, who is aware of the thought or feelings or sensations?we have a reply " I".. we generally identify the "i" with body/mind.. I am tall,short, angry,happy etc. So if we shift the focus from thoughts/feelings to who is aware , that "I" is the knowingness within us, I know I exist. I know I am aware, self evident knowing ..that's the inward "I" deeper essence that exists always, aware of changing of body/thoughts/emotions. Sometimes I try it this way. Helps to shift from what the body/mind identified "i" to deeper Awareness. Not sure if this is right or wrong

Awesome awnser,after 40 years of meditation,I agree, . It is a basic question to ask ,when one considers the multi milenia accumulation of detritus. That it can be swept away in a single lifetime of some casual daily session of meditation.
@GeertMeertens
@GeertMeertens 2 жыл бұрын
It can be swept away in a single second and it does not require any formal meditation because meditation is what you ARE, not something you DO. The person is something you DO, it is not what you ARE (Rupert Spira). Verify that statement looking back on any dream you ever had. Then make the same switch of perspective in the dream called 'life'.

Thank you for your words. It is like it is. After 27 years of studying and doing yoga/meditation we can give up enlightenment if some young guys get it as a present for devotion in the presence of a master and we can work on the "material" "life" to become more happy and healthy again till this "ends". But for the essential "oneness" you have really to get the right driving licence and the right teacher. I'm bored by all words about it. I know them all. Going to a master who can click away the curtain is the easiest and shortest way. I didn' t. We can do this.

In Germany there are several teachers who are awake...I recommend Prem Buddha and Mari Nil dor ex. In Amerika there is Steven Harrison for ex. You have to give up your ego in front of her/him.. totally and to know that this is the most important will you have. Give up and you get your real life back which you always have been for so long.. It seems to me that to be helpful instructions are to be given to the individual where they are at. David’s instructions here will work for some but not for others. This goes for all sorts of spiritual teachings. As Ramana said to Yogananda instructions are most effective on a individual basis. These blanket statements and teachings to general audiences belong in a category unto themselves. David makes this clear in other videos and writings.

@albundy9597 2 жыл бұрын
@@GeertMeertens A hypothesis is a concept with bells on. All religions and philosophies are concepts, they work for some and not for others. That is not meant in a disparaging way but concepts are not truths just because they work for some individuals. Both Nisargadatta and Ramana's concepts should be more accurately explained; for example he says in deep sleep the world disappears, it doesn't of course as anybody sitting next to a man in deep sleep could testify, he is temporarily unaware of it but not completely, the bodily functions of breathing and heart pumping still go on, hearing still functions, the skin would still feel pain. Nisargadatta is even more vague; 'you are not the mind or body....there is no body', look in a mirror, it may be maya but it is what we have. Donald Hoffman's 'conscious agents' idea with mathematics to back it up doesn't alter the causal life's path one is on. Donald Campbell's 'free will units of consciousness' ideas doesn't mean you a free of life's burdens, interesting, yes but at the dentist I still need Novocain and I still need to pay taxes.

@@ultimanecat3091 What all human's are is a slave to the conditioned mind until they realize who they are. Until that time of realization we say they are, unconscious. Jesus said on the Cross, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do". Meaning: They knew they were killing a man. They knew they were hammering nails into a man's wrists and feet, but Jesus said they don't know what they're doing. Meaning: Unconscious. We forgive all of the offences based on this realization. But, there is still the realm of karma. These people who do break the law, moral or otherwise will "pay" for their crimes. But not in eternity. They return to the One like all life. So, yes all manifestations of ego is illusory. But karma, and good police forces make sure there is repercussions if needed. So hard to put into words, but one has to see the big picture here, and not just the manifestations of ego. Peace.
