Some Fellows are Crying and complaining about WHY this Discussion was in ENGLISH. I am from ANDHRA and i watch Tamil-Malayalam movies either Dubbed into Telugu or Hindi. When I See South Movies that were Dubbed into Hindi....I have seen KZfaq Comments from Other Countries Viewers. Films Like Bahubali reached to Global Audience and Many Tamil Movies have the Beauty and Capacity to reach to Wider Audience Group across the Globe. Thank You Guys for making this Program in ENGLISH. Great Work by BR Sir.

BR sir is very Genuine .......and his review of movies is very much fair... No doubt.. ...But Vijay Sethupathi sir very best actor ....in Tamil industry currently.... He singing all types of script coz he want to be part of everything not just hero centric movie....... He is an wonderful actor... Not just a hero..... He loves his work.... His is very passionate about his work.... He gives his 100% .....and he play any type of role.... Like a old man or transgender...... And everyone knows how much he loves acting.......

Kaithi didn't worked for me especially for the same reason BR said when I see karthi I am fully aware he is the saviour and not a betrayer but his character should be kept as a unpredictable for viewers for a thriller movie experience

Good one guys! I’ve become a fan of BR and love his reviews and interviews. It’s a good point about Vijay Sethupathi’s script selection strategy, rather lack there of :) I think VSP is smart and he caters for everyone (Cinephiles and all Entertainment seekers) with as many movies. He must trust that his Cinephile fans know to filter his movies from trailers or from reviews by people like BR. Exactly the reason why I never got excited to watch Junga kinda movies. Keep up the good work BR!

Nice interview. Have been reading BR's blog reviews since the early 2000s, when he was still in a corporate job(I think). Good insight into films and film reviewing. It would be good to get an insight into his BITS Pilani engineering background to corporate job to taking the plunge to becoming a movie reviewer.

Nithya Menons character is justified in the movie via the social message of normal delivery (acting), bringing up children (conversation they have), building hospital (first to initiate volunteering money, speaking to the crowd), culture of her own upbringing and how she fascinates Tamil culture bravery and chivalry (via dialogues) Other two heroins just to add masala. Nithya Menon wouldn't have selected the script for the sake of Vijay and atlee. She expects good content, script, message in which she can perform well. She is a performer.!!

Regarding body shaming, there are two sides to it ... while cinema must not normalize body shaming in terms of colour, size or height (which is unfortunately the case with women imported from Hindi belt simply because they are fair and fleshy), it still has a responsibility mirroring the society even if regressive. I can say this much: walk the path with care. When it comes to movies with a message, I get it that Mr Rangan is looking into film making. But for someone who is not into nuances of film-making, I really liked Laabam from Vjs. I would watch it again to get it better. Yes, Vjs did some lame movies for sure: while Pizza and Puriyatha Pudhir were thrillers (whatever), Naduvula Konjam Pakkathe Kanum is a one-off movie, Soodhu Kavvum or Balakumara didn't make any sense. Balakumara was a very loud stupid character tbh ... so was his role in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Karuppan is about an aggressive husband (what's the point) and Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren was tiring to watch. Sangatamizhan, DSP and Annabelle Sethupathi were easily forgettable too. What is Kaathuvaakula rendu kaadhal? Crap. But I see the luxury of ignoring these mediocre films and watch the rest.

when we say about balachandhar films . he gave a films which the story needs on those days .and if he is born in current generation he will give the movies which needs for current generation with same film making style with update.

The only reason I think VJS agreed for the Sanggathamizhan movie was that he might have felt that doing transgender in SD with controversial BJ scene as well might not work and instead might make him lose appeal from fans as a hero. So in doing a mass hero movie like sanggathamizhan immediately after SD will ensure his appeal as a hero remains. Though ST was a flop and one of his worst movies.

I believe You both speak good Tamil...people who watch this show are mostly Tamil people.. may be 1-2 percent of other language people....why do you talk unnecessary in English as if you are discussing about English movies.... especially interviewer speaks horrible English in Tamil accent.....
