Embarrassing fan base, Ange deserves better

I don’t think Ange will ever forgive so-called fans for cheering and twerking for City while their Champions League hopes died. Apparently, he’s the only one who seems to understand the financial and talent implications of missing out.

Do not underestimate Ange's willingness to leave at the end of the season. He would consider the fan's behaviour as toxic, and entrenched. He will see that they are not on the same page, and this is a big thing for him. He left the Australian coaching job straight after qualifying them for the World Cup. Not many managers would do this. His job wasn't under pressure. He felt that the hierarchy in Australian football didn't have the same beliefs as him. At Tottenham, he believes the fan base is the most important component, and if they don't have the same beliefs then he'll go. He has plenty of money, he's had his opportunity to manage in the PL, and most likely he'll get a job very quickly. He will not compromise on his principles. Don't be surprised if you wake up in the next couple of weeks, and see in the news that he has resigned.

I understand a lot of Spurs fans feel that CL is unlikely given where Villa are. I also understand a the logic of not being fussed about a competition if you don't think you'll do well in it. What I can't understand is why a fan is more invested in someone else's club rather than their own. No matter who you support surely your focus should be on your team doing as well as possible, if you aren't happy be mad at your own team for not being where you want them to be rather than being mad at other teams for doing well.

I’m sorry but if Conte, Jose or even Poch threw that game fans would be furious. If we want to genuinely build and challenge the mentality we need is to always want to win and go for max points. Serial winners would be furious at that. Ange should be furious and looking at Benta’s reaction to being taken off he wanted to win 100%. Our form recently has been poor and yet we still had a chance of top 4 with 2 games to go seeing Villa drop points last night; we weren’t outclassed feels more like we threw that game.

I supported Ange but a bit disappointed with his bad looser’s mentality. He has had the fans behind him all the way despite his flaws and lack of tactics that lead to missing a CL spot. Overall not a bad result but his sensitivity to some extreme passionate fans behaviour is worrying. Turning against the fans, especially after that exceptional support he enjoyed, is not very wise.

Ange isn't a long term Spurs fan and whilst he means well, he couldn't begin to understand the emotional dilemma the many of us faced going in to this particular game. The current group of players and Manager can be excused from our petty banter on the sidelines since they don't feel what we feel. Knowing that our squad is woefully short of what it needs to be to avoid an early departure from the CL next season merely added to the difficulty. There's no need to over analyse this situation and suggesting that it has something to do with a less than firm foundation in the club is beyond silly. We'll be playing in the right European competition (for us) at this stage of our evolution and this is a strong and healthy place to build from...COYS!
