In reality they probably dont deserve to be in the final but fair play they are there, but to call southgate a legend is ridiculous. Sometimes you just get these lucky managers that no matter how poor they are, they make up for it with their huge amounts of luck. I think southgate is like Steve Bruce in his early days in management. He knew nothing about tactics, and just chucked eleven players on the pitch hoping for the best, and moments of quality won him the matches needed to keep him in a job.

I dont think people appreciate just what kane is doing this tournament. He's obviously not in peak condition, but it's an international tournament. Every defender in europe knows exactly what Kane is capable of. They've studied him, and they harrass him all game. He's constantly battling with a 6 foot+ brick wall. If a chance comes, he's clinical enough to be able to take 1 chance. What people are missing is the fact that Kane is also tiring the defenders out not just himself. Watkins, Tony, Palmer, Saka, Foden, Walker, Shaw, Bellingham..... they can all exploit those tired defenders legs. Hes playing like Heskey used to for england. Not much in terms of numbers, but still a key part of the overall plan. We cant just rely on rapid midgets like Saka Foden Palmer Watkins. We need that height and strength that Kane Bellingham Rice and Mainoo are providing. In the final, theres only 2 questions that needs answering..... Can Walker still keep up with Mbappe? Can Shaw play the full 90? If they can, we win.

After 8 years in charge and entering a tournament with a system that clearly didn't work with multiple players out of position, only one left back who hasn't kicked a ball for 5 months and an absent striker getting started over better options (and seems to want to play central defense), I don't think scraping through by the absolute skin of our teeth should in any way give Southgate the credit some people are trying to rub their meat to.
