Norm suspects that the original of this English country clock found on London's King's Road, with its tapered profile, may have been built by the village coffin maker. Norm builds up its moldings from a combination of off-the-shelf moldings and others made at the workshop, and selects an inexpensive quartz movement.

Soooo happy to see Norm and these episodes again! I've been a fan for most of my life. His insane skills, comforting voice, and sweet dad energy just warms my heart like an old friend. Thanks for bringing these back!!!

My grandfather did a lot of woodworking projects in his later years. One project we enjoyed was utilized every Christmas. It looked like a very wide grandfather clock, yet this clock didn't tell time. It had doors and drawers with all sorts of goodies and Christmas decorations. It's kind of like a giant Advent calendar without Advent. Once I get more settled in location and ability, I would like to try and adapt a different NYW clock project into my own Christmas clock.

Norm thoroughly instructs how to build a FREAKING massive, beautiful clock in under 20 minutes. I mean come on.... Love it!

I remember watching this when it first aired, and wanting to make one with a real pendulum works in it. Never did find the right works for a price I could afford, so still waiting. It did spur the accumulation of some cheaper clocks.

Did they ever have an episode where he did make a coffin? “It’s sized for today’s living, and it would look great behind your sofa.”

I tried my darndest to follow ever episode of NYW. As a avid fan and follower of all of Russ's programs, it is great to see NYW posted her on KZfaq with Russ popping in now and then. I also like to see TOH old episodes on ROKU I remember waiting for each new episode from the first one to play on PBS and seldom missed one. Never thought that the real estate hustler from season 5 episode two who succeed, but hey what do I know.

The Elizabeth Tower is the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster in London, England. It contains the Great Clock, a striking clock with five bells. The tower is nicknamed "Big Ben", which was originally a nickname for the largest bell. Here is a link if anyone wants to know more about the Clock: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Ben Thanks Norm for all your great works as a Master Carpenter! your books and shows have helped several generations of builders worldwide I'm sure of it! I'm one of them!

I never knew Norm used the table saw on a bias to cut a cove. I've seen it in old books as a technique but guessed Norm thought it was unsafe. I was wrong! For those interested, Norm shows a different way to cut a tighter cove in the Marble Roll episode using his wobble-dado-head. Norm!

I did it once for a cove molding and it worked fine. Just raised blade slowly and used push pads

You should be aware that this program and the rights to rebroadcast it are owned by Russel Morash, the producer of the series. Norm is not involved in the recent establishment of this channel and the reposting of these 20 to 30 year old episodes. I suppose there is a chance Norm is watching along with the rest of us, and may respond to your comment (and I hope so!), but I think it’s unlikely.

Norm certainly isn't posting videos -- but he is around and has promised to stop by every once in a while. Since the shop is in Russ's backyard he's sort of held hostage as I convince him to make some short videos 😀 Seriously though Norm, Russ and even PBS, still get their fair share of everything this channel (and the new site) bring in. In case you missed it, you can see Norm help launch the channel with Russ here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptuhhsqet7LNY2w.html
