thank you! i tore a ligament in my foot a week ago and am hoping the physio, when i go in about 2 hours, will give me a noon boot to walk in because it’s impossible for me to walk in crutches for too long because one, they hurt, two, i’m extremely uncoordinated and suck at balancing myself, and three, i’ve got to catch the bus to school which i struggle enough walking to the bathroom with crutches. i can’t put any weight on it yet

Crutches are the worst. Broke my ankle a week and a half ago on my dirtbike and have been on crutches since. The last time I was on crutches I thought to myself "never again".... Welp two years later here we are again on crutches....

how long did that take you to be able to walk without crutches after you got on the boot? because i got my cast taken off and they didn’t give me a walking boot or anything and just instructed me to start trying to walk using crutches to help. so i was wondering if i should buy a walking boot because i have graduation soon and would not like to be using crutches

Slipped on 'black ice' on New Year's Eve and hobbled around for a week before going to ER due to pain.... diagnosed sprained ankle/foot AND x-ray revealed broken distal fibula, so, walking-boot and elbow crutches! A couple of weeks later the foot pain had gone so I discarded the boot...BIG MISTAKE... as I had the sensation of a 'scab' coming away within in my ankle, so... BOOT BACK ON 'till the doctor tells me to take it off!?

sprained my ankle the other day and they gave me a boot. I think crutches would be better as the boot sends me lop sided and kills my lower back as it raises my other foot off the ground so much. It's twisting me around all over the place. I can limp around on my sprained ankle in my apartment with little to no pain and the swelling is starting to subside - do I really need this boot?

Is the body weight still on the foot or does the tall walking boot transfer the body weight to the lower leg, thereby relieving the injured foot from the large body weight force???
@crcmoto37514 жыл бұрын
I think no matter what when you lift the non injured foot off the ground the injured foot is carrying the weight. I think it's designed the way it is to get you to use the motion of your foot how you would normally walk which is easier said than done because you have a heavy huge boot that doesn't allow you to move your foot/ankle how you would normally before you got hurt.

No longer much pain but can't walk on tip toes as I imagine anyone with a boot can't ??? This woman had her whole weight on her tip toes......

Agree. I have the boot too. It definitely helps to some degree as I can't wear shoes right now, but if I put any weight on the tip toes I can definitely feel pain.
