After spending time trying to figure out how we would get to our campsite at the Talladega reserved campground, we realized there's not a lot of material out there explaining the process of getting to the track, checking in, and finding your campsite. This made that part of the trip a bit of an unknown; that can be a bit intimidating for a first time camper.
I've previously camped at the free south campground back in 2019 and had some idea, but was unsure of the process for getting into the reserved campgrounds. So I decided to record our drive onto the property to document our arrival to the Talladega campgrounds.
This video is specifically for the outfield reserved campgrounds outside of turn 1 and the front stretch such as the Geico South Park, Winner's Walk I and II, Legends Lane, and Campion's Corner.
The unknown of driving to the racetrack was not bad at all. It was easy to figure out where to go and it kind of gives you this sense of adventure. So I guess if you want that then don't watch this video and go in blind. If you get lost, the staff are always happy to help you get to where you are going.

Winner's Walk II had water hook ups. The website sayd "shared water hookups" but each site gets a spicket. Just 2 spickets are grouped together between sites. If you pause the video at 22:40 you can see between each pair of sites looks like some kind of concrete sticking up. That's where the water hookup are. The closer one having a cover sticking up. at 22:42 just above the left corner of the nose of the truck was were the hookups for our site and the site next to ours. I can't say for certain, but I imagine that any of their other campgrounds that have "shared water hookups" are similar. No sewer or power. But propane and septic truck services can be called to swing by if needed.

@@bagnome Random question, but what did you use for Air Conditioning? Since there were no power hookups and I saw where generators have to be turned off at midnight.

@@TicketyToc The Talladega races are in the spring and fall when temperatures are mild. I think we opened the roof vents at night and just let air circulate through the camper. I don't remember what the temperature was that weekend we were there, but I don't remember it ever being too hot or cold at night.
