The fastest man on four wheels, Ricky Bobby (WILL FERRELL) is one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. Losing his wife and job to best bud and fellow fool, Cal Naughton, Jr. (JOHN C. REILLY), Ricky must kick some serious asphalt if he's to get his career back on the track, beat Girard and reclaim his fame and fortune. Reese is the definition of a dead-beat dad but I'll say this for him; He never showed his face when Ricky Bobby was on top. When his son became a huge Nascar star Reese could have just lived in his mansion and mooched off of him. Ricky gave his dad an open invitation to do so by leaving those tickets for him at every one of his races, but he never asked his son for a dime. Obviously it's because he values his freedom and independence, and he chose that over his family. It's only when his son had lost everything, when Ricky hit rock-bottom and truly needed help that Reese decided to be a part of his life. The man's a dirtbag, but he has a bizarre integrity to him.

Ricky Bobby's Mother is an Angel. He shows up out of no where with his kids in tow, and she opens her home to all of them with out asking any questions. We need more people like her in the world.

Today a racing car driver, the next day he has to deliver pizzas like he has zero savings, no backup plan. Just like in American Beauty, after a corporate job comes McDonald's or the guy goes starving.
