Very nice. But can you name a single drum company in 2023 that makes BAD drums? 20 years ago I had a Yamaha Stage Custom with all three toms slightly out of round. Now I doubt even the cheapest kits have those kinds of manufacturing problems.

It's possible, but, there is more than just the manufacturing process that goes into creating the best sounding kit for the best price. Each vendor is going to have different design principals, how the drum is painted or wrapped, what hardware to use. The type of wood is also an important aspect. Anyway, you have a point, but, I disagree with you that a Tama drum will sound like a Yamaha drum.
