The house he’s recording this at is in southern Western Australia, its called the Waves House. The reverb into a fuzz and phasers set to a slow rate are the hallmarks of Parker's guitar sound, which has influenced many modern psychedelic rock bands to have a similar setup, which Parker says "it’s the most flattering thing in the world to hear a band ripping you off."

If the wood is finished properly you don't need to worry about condensation. Try using polyurethane instead of linseed oil for a good seal.

Felt the same actually, my constructive criticism is I'd remove the synth triplet voicings (laaa-dooo-deee, laa-doo-daaaa) from the official Powerlines track on the B-sides album, in favor of more dense, psychedelic synth layers like he had going in this edit. But that's just me. Kevin Parker is still a genius either way, not to mention the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Bringing salvation to the world via Tame Impala. He has risennnnnnnnnn

Same here, I actually went ahead and made a little edit to fit this teaser's audio with the original Powerlines release within 2/3 of the song in a semi-haphazardly manner in which it fades initially with the bass solo part then fades out towards the ending just in time for the fade out portion. Not the best mix, but that's the best I can find a way to insert the audio. Since soundcloud has auto removed the soundtrack, I'll have to give a direct link: files.catbox.moe/iv7oqn.mp3 Just don't tell Jesus I did this.

That's become my opinion as well as I listen more (and more and more), though I think depending on what this track actually is (an instrumental segue like Nangs? or perhaps this is only a segment of a longer track -fingers crossed for an 8+ minute odyssey) it might have been a nice way to turn the corner into "Act III" of the album, i.e. after Disciples into the slower-tempo, dreamier tracks that take us out. If it wasn't evident by now, I listen to Currents at least 1x a day :D

turns out it was an instrumental after all... i think all 3 of the "new" tracks are great, each could have made the album in one way or another, but ultimately were better left as formative conceptual starting points and probably got the proper treatment as b-sides

Incredible how the universe can speak to you sometimes. I hadn't checked the Tame Impala website in a loooong time, then I go on, this vid auto-plays, I'm floored, go order the Collector's Edition, and like an hour later, it was sold out.
