I remember hearing this back in 2011. I found it while I was candy flipping (on advice a friend gave me because I was severely depressed) I was browsing KZfaq and randomly found an upload and this was the track. I was blown away by it and it put me into a state of mind of sheer bliss. Even though it wasn’t exactly a song to help with my girl problems, I was just happy to watch “her move” and made me realize it wasn’t meant to be even if I tried to boast her love for me that wasn’t there. Love you Kevin Parker and will always be a fan. It’s like being a proud dad. Went from having 15k views total in YEARS to over a million in a week❤️🥺

I have a lot of memories with this song dating back to 2012. Innerspeaker will always be my favorite. It Is Not Meant to Be is the classic of the classic Tame Impala songs. All of the music is fantastic, but nothing beats how perfect this song is from beginning to end. Nothing has changed about my experience with this song since my first listen in 2012 and I'm still obsessed!

just heard this in Marvel's Legion and since the first episode the show looked like it should have atleast one Tame Impala song. Can't explain how happy i was. The song is as underrated as the show.

I first heard this song when I met my now ex girlfriend, she played it on one of our first car rides together, it didn’t really have any meaning to me at the time, just a strange sounding song that I’d never heard, but now that it’s over this song makes sense, it was almost like it predicted the future of us, and it brings back a strange nostalgia of the past when things were different.
