As a mallu i would say Tamil industry releases a lot of movies which has good story and not every director is going behind the mass masala formula But what abt the audience Vidhuthalai was not huge box office success compared to mass movies of Vijay and Rajinikanth I won't say that we should not hav mass movies, even i enjoyed jailer and leo in theatre but pls support all good movies irrespective of language and genre

Im from kerala. I like realistic movies but to be honest all kind of movies should be released. Mass masala and realistic both should be there. Why now audience feel frustrated may be because young generation has the opportunity to watch world movies in netflix which has changed there taste.

As a movie lover, there are only two industries which i adore the most, Malayalam and tamil. Even though some are saying tamil is just entertainment based, i love the other side of the industry more, viduthalai, parking, karnan..... they have great movies similar to our Malayalam industry and I hope the movie sense of the "fans" switch to more towards story based scripts rather than just 'more than life' heroes. I am sure other industries will be in jealous of these two industries in near future, or I can say it already started.

I am a malyali , tamil industry is not bad as well... There is a movie " Naduvila konjam pakkatha kanam" what a movie what a script ... And also the recent movie ... Of vijaysethupathi and an old man who is a farmer...i am not sure why these movies are not getting noticed too ..i honestly like vijay sethupathis Seethakaathi... Are they too being a hit??... I was wondering why... They too have good stories its just like its getting un noticed by tamil audiences too.. They dont know thier potential ( the tamil audiences doesn't know thier industries potential) thats all what i can say No hate to manjummal boys... But as they were saying thier directors cant do this... Help them to do it thats all

Im a mallu. I think more realistic raw actors are there in tamil movie. Recently released Kadaisi vyvasayi was one of the best movie i have watched in recent tyms. I dont knw about its success. Bt it was too realistic and hearttouching.

The quality of the movies depend on the tastes of the audience. It's a good sign that the Tamil audience are showing preference for acting, story and technical brilliance compared to mass masala formula. That should encourage the filmmakers to come up with movies that matches the audience's class.

One humble request..dont degrade other film industry to appreciate the other..There are n number of great movies in Tamil too which are super realistic..just like the movie Guna itself.. it didnt do good at the box office but a great movie in itself.. learn to appreciate both the film industries.. both are really good film industries.. ofcourse mass element is there in tamil industry..but we need to look at those films in a complete different genre rather than comparing it with realistic movies..movie industries need to be versatile to not bore the audiences..if there were 100s of movies like manjummel boys getting released in the same industry, people will get bored..im glad both the industries are experimenting and venturing into balanced yet different scripts..im also happy that these movies worth every penny for the entertainment they give.. be it MB or 2018 or Jailer or Leo..all are great movies and love watching them on theaters for the great cinematic experience..
