Dillon May Tamia, Deborah Cox and Kelly Price were actually all supposed to do an album called “The Queen Project” years ago but busy schedules ended with the album being scrapped. I know two songs that were supposed to be on that album ended up on two other albums KeKe Wyatt (Mirror ft Tweet and Kelly Price) then True Colors on the Faith Evans R&B Divas albums which had Fantasia and Kelly Price.

What am saying so you can understand is that they both have huge fanbase but it is hard for labels to marketing them because there talents are authentic and one of a kind. Tamia has released more music on her own label from album then she has when she is with a major label. There are countless female singers that are black who underrated because labels can't marketing them correctly. That's what am saying... I can go all the way back to both of there debut albums which both are classics.

@@decholes95 tamia is undecided to me because she has really good low notes and she can sustain singing at the bottom of range and it sounds really nice..Deborah has an impressive range but you have to listen to the quality of the highnotes. they dont have the ring as a typical soprano bit rather kinda brassy sounding. Rule of thumb sopranos will be gold or silver sounding..mezzos have brass at the top

theodore braden Lyric Sopranos have solid ranges at the bottom listen to other Lyrics like Lisa Fischer who have full control from top to bottom of their range. And Spintos live in their mid to upper range. Deborah has always had the power in those registers

@@decholes95 Yes and no. I think stamina too. Lisa Fischer can hit a A2 but she wouldnt stay down there. She'd want to come up to be in her upper register. Tamia is an anomaly but imma contend she is a mezzo because she carried the song "still" in her low range. She has several songs where she can sing down there..her voice is also a smidge deeper live than on studio recordings. Also listen to a competition video. Maybe its not fair but there is one between tamia and mariah. Yes Mariah is insane. But youd expect similar degrees of ease from E5-G5. Mariah sounds like the notes come from nowhere whereas Tamia sounds like she has to nail this note. She nails it everytime but there is a noticeable degree of effort. Even if you compare her to Letoya Lucket in studio when she belted out a F#5 like it was nothing. Tamia can get it but the quality wont be as smooth. Yes, i get you about deborah. My only comment is that her high notes arent bright. I think Tiffany Evans is a soprano version of deborah cox..the belting style, and vibrato are similar. If you listen to Tiffany, there is a clarity, brilliance, and pointedness to her upper register that is missing from deborah's. Deborah is more raw and smoky...more depth to the voice especially in the middle. Anyway, think there is a semitone differrnce between a mezzo and soprano so there will be tons of overlap. i just focus on the quality, stamina, and placement of notess...both apply a chest dominant mix to high notes
