Saw jailer on prime video yesterday..blue settai sir is spot on.. though initial hour goes well.. suddenly looses tempo and goes off track and illogical.. going behind that temple crown on all that.. but ofcourse the swag and style of Rajini sir is unmatchable. I still feel his fullest potential in the last 10 yrs is not yet utilised. The so call directors now just want to add to their Resume that ," I too have worked with Rajini".. love from Bengaluru

Agreed absolutely, you said it.. 👍👍 especially the last part of your comment. Kamal and Rajini are just stepping stones / ladders for the next generation of directors and actors to push their careers ahead. Neither of these giants are desperate for doing commercial hit movies they are practically semi-retired at this point of their careers. I just wish they take the more responsible route by doing some feel good family movies with some real social message as appropriate for their personality instead of blood and street level violence which hardly suits their age anymore. 👎

When it comes to handling a Star without deviating the Story, no director can match Shankar in Tamil cinema. He never let the Stardom overshadow his concepts but he uses it to elevate the story in a peculiar way. Robo, Shivaji and Bharateeyudu are the best examples. I am bit disappointed with jailer, I expected some thing par with Padayappa but jailer is nowhere near to that. In Padayappa, there are many punchlines for Rajini. ( kanna, kashtapedame ethume kedaikkathu .. and many ) but jailer has nothing other than just Hukkum. Padayappa has suxh gripping moments. 1. The scene mother of Rajini asks him to bring Soundarya instead of Ramya Krishnan 2. That hammock hanging chair scene with Remya krishnan And many many But in Jailer there are nothing, the screenplay is too dull.. all it has some swag slow motion scenes... I hope Lokesh and Rajinikanth will make a movie together soon

I just watched it. Don't get the hype..Petta still remains the best Rajni movie in recent years. Nelson is so bad at writing..the movie had so many logic holes..and even though so many big stars make a cameo..it was really underwhelming..so much missed potential!!!

I see the movie...it's better than kalai and kabali....not as good a Pettai.... one thing,after so long,i see rajni throw cigar in his mouth (that is Super) Rajni don'r sing duet sing,act his age is good.. First half super..second half bit slow..yogi babu comedy ok...not super....... this is my honest opinion...... Sun tv sell distributers at a rate,they will sell it at theatre owners..... we can only say afther 4 weeks,how is the out come? first few days confirm Rajini flim got lot of crowd.... it is Repeated audience,that will make move "super hit"

Hats off! Honest review- the ‘comedy’ in this movie was terrible. The dialogue’s atrocious. The villain character was played very well by Vinayagan but was diluted to a point where he was no longer any threat to our protagonist. The umpteen slow motion shots and loud BGM whenever superstar Rajni, Shivrajkumar or Mohanlal entered the screen got tiresome after a while. There was no chemistry between Ramykrishnan and Rajni this time- huge missed opportunity. The heist during the second half along with Blast Mohan, Balu and his assistant were senseless and cringy to say the least. The father-son duo didn’t work for me and they made the son the villian at the last 10 minutes of the movie because the main villian and his goons were no longer a threat and they needed a villian for the climax of the film. Just felt so absurd and ridiculous. Waste of time and money.

Watched the movie yesterday without any expectations. I agree with most of the points he make.. second half story is very weak. Just the first half story itself is enough to make it as 2.30 hrs movie with few more comerical / family scenes
