Great job on the diorama. The vehicle/flak, figures, and base work turned out wonderfully. Field Grey is green and mid grey mixed. Also a black wash on the figure's weapons will tone down the shininess. Keep up the superb work. Bill

I am just finishing my build of the same Sdkfz 251/1. As you said it's a 1973 kit. I found a lot of seams which meant a lot of clean up. I did get the back doors in, after much swearing, I finally taped the doors shut so that the hinges stayed in place. It was either that or grow a third hand. There was no decals in my kit, and the plans are like Ikea. Granted it was about a $30 CAD kit which is on the cheap side and that is my fault. If my poor painting skills are sufficient and I can find some decals in my extra stash it may go on the shelf. Even though the length and width are close to scale. I wanted to put in a driver and none of my 1 35 scale figures from other Tamiya or other kits are even close to fitting on the seat. I even tried a 1 48 scale person, and their legs are too long. That is disappointing. Current Tamiya kits are much better, but I have decided to try others, RFM, Trumpeter and Border to name a few. I built the Trumpeter Sdkfz-8 which was a fantastic kit and holds 9 sitting troopers. Not one of of them would fit in this kit. Oh well. Great video and a nice job. Don't sweat the rear doors they will not stay in place at all .

Thank you very much for this nice video. I took lot of inspiration from it while building the same kit. I had to laugh when I noticed, that I made the same fault with locating the mudguards. Fortunately I use glue very sparesly, so I could correct it...

Mudguards and mirrors, cud be Battle damage. I wouldn't think any halftrack would look pristine in the Theatre

I love this old kit. With parts from newer kits and modern decal kits it is easy to convert to a 1944 version. I always prefer 1944 style numbers from Archer. Or Tiger-1 decal numbers. Grossdeutchland logo decals and seated Panzergrenadiers from Miniart or the 1978 seated German soldiers that you can convert into Wermacht. If you want MG-42s and Panzerfausts easily available from Tamiya extras or if you want sights for MGs just get them from Tamiya-Tigers or Panthers accessory kits. Hate Waffen S.S.
