12 years ago & 14k views ! I really enjoyed that, the soft focus made it seem like it was an original Tamiya promo video they used to play on a VCR in the model shops (remember those?) but with out the corny music and the voice over ha ha My friend had the Cheetah when they came out, I was in awe of it with all the working suspension because my folks bought me the other Tamiya Lamborghini ? Yep I had the Countach Competition Special and I still have it with a new body set of course 😉I really enjoyed your video it's made me look forward to getting my Cheetah out for a decent run, I bought it around the time you uploaded this video! I 'm sure I recognise your name from TC 👍

Hi there! Thank you for your great comment, much appreciated!😀 Yes, of course I remember the promo vid's on VCR in the shops, spending hours of watching.... And yes, that's a bit of my purpose when I did these clips though, to have a bit of reminiscing, but for sure to have pure fun as well! And yes, it's definitely worth to go out for a run👍 And cool, you still have the Lambo Comp Special (onroad), awesome vehicle! I once bought the "reissue" from tamtech, still in the box.... And yes, my TC name is "Tamor", but unfortunately not so active for a while, nor here on YT(..) So happy you've enjoyed the clip and all the best to you!😎

Thanks for commenting 😃👍 And yes, the Cheetah is such a unique vehicle and Tamiya did a perfect scaler... these were the days in the very beginning of RC....🥰

LOOK at those plastic torsion bars work!! Excellent filming! That's a true classic, from the company that introduced Scale to the R/C World.

What a nice reply! Yes, Tamiya was the first to put drivers in R/C cars, first to design realistic bodies, with Scale type suspensions! I've always been a fan!! 👍👍😎 ~ Carmine

I had one of these. I remember the gear always stripping or coming loose. I never had a speed controller so the full power on didn't do it much good :-/ I had the Lepard A4 tank too around the same time I remember spending hours assembling the track.

So you where "in" (this hobby) quite early at the time.... good memories, with all the troubles we had ... you mentioned the SC - we spent a fortune to have a E-SC (electr. Speed Controller) for our Blazing Blazer to avoid gearing damages....:-) - But now, present days, Trouble Shooting became less...which is big fun as well :-) best regards!

My friend had the XR311 which was the same. l swapped it for a Rough Rider which was twice as fast, but the Cheetah would take 4 regular D Cell batteries instead of the battery pack which took all night to recharge. With the D Cell batteries it was very poor though, you had to use the lowest of the three supplied gear sets for it to move at all.

...:-) yes, now I remember the overnight battery charging ! ... these were the days :-)
