I stopped to run my Tamiya rc cars about 35-40 years ago and just restarted in 2022. My old Pajero was in a box during all this time. Many pieces were missing because of the many changes of address in different Countries around the globe. Today I started the restauration of my Pajero after I found a second hand same model from a guy. It's in pristine condition, the gear box is in fantastic condition (my old one was very very used). So happy. I keep young., I'll die young.

Lol yeah, I think it will get pretty dusty in summer. Might have to build an RC water truck to wet the track first. 😂👍

I had one of these as a kid in 1985. Very rare! It looks like it handles exactly as I remember, rolling over at any sort of corner. Best putting the batteries in the back though better for wheelies, and it’ll stop the rattling.

Had one to in the eighties, almost undriveable, roles over too easy. I moved the battery pack from the rear to centre of the chassis, that helped but the body had already taken lots of pain 😃. Later I put the RX540VZ motor in it, then it will do wheelies even with the battery pack mounted in the centre of the chassis.

It looks so cool! Clancky little sucker! I put very thin cut silicone fuel line washers under the shock screw heads on the shaft so it don't clank like that I do it to all my rc's with those metal screw head shock shafts it works great..I also did the same and put some on top of the body posts after i put the body on I put a thin washer on the post then put the clips in and it stops the body from bouncing around making that clank noise also..... It runs good... they do tumble I have the one that was re released with the lunchbox tires always does some crazy stunts for sure!!

Thanks Steve. Great idea with the fuel tube. I thought about o-rings but the fuel tube will be better. I'll fix that for the next run, that body slapping gets annoying very quick lol. They're great fun though, even when tumbling although I was worried about scratching the body or the lights busting off. Luckily the mulch on the ground made for soft landings. 😁👍

I had this model back in 1984 ish. Hours of fun with it. Had a big 7.2v battery sat on that back shelf. Didn’t wheelie anymore or less that this one. Remember breaking the little T bar where the front part of the body hooks onto it then had to reattach T bar with metal bracket. This one sounds really rattly. I suspect either the makeshift battery ties or body not secured properly by the 2 clips at the back. Wish I kept it not gave it away to my cousin 🙄

Yeah the body rattles a bit. It is secured properly but might need an o-ring on the body mounts as the body does move up and down slightly (enough to rattle). I doubt the body would have stayed on during the flips without the body pins in place 😉. Lunchbox and Pumpkin cars all seem to rattle too. Oh yeah I hear ya, I wish I'd have kept my old cars from my childhood too. 👍

i had one of these in the late 70's . I remember it jumping quite well but not with the original body. I had a cheap polycarb body that i just made fit and it was not so top heavy. Also back then you needed 4 aa batteries for the receiver which when placed low really helped stability.

That thing looks awesome but I think the least likely word you could use to describe it is "planted"!!! I think it spends half its run time in the air as it is bouncing all over the place! Still looks like a fun time and you really took it from grungy and busted to a good little runner (bouncer).

Hmm, I think this is a prime example of a car that would benefit from a locked rear diff. :D Hilarious video there, its actually good you have that rather soft chopped wood surfacing on your yard, all the rollovers are on a pretty safe surface! Love it.
@RCHobbyShed
@RCHobbyShed 2 жыл бұрын
Lol, one minute into the run I thought I should have loaded the diff with AW grease. That stuff make these diffs a lot better. It was fun though! You're right there, I'm glad I left a lot of mulch in the yard or I might be repainting the body today 😂👍

Hey that little brick on wheels did alright! It's jumping ability reminded me of my 1st attempt at bmx jumps when I was a kid... I kept landing on my head which explains a lot 😂. The yard turned out great👌heaps of potential right outside the back door, every rc'ers dream mate. So seeing you had a clean out does that mean you have more room to expand the fleet!? 😃 Thanks for sharing your video Mick! 👍🦘🇦🇺

Yeah it did! A little to bouncy for jumps but was still fun watching it tumble lol. Haha, I hear ya mate, most of my BMX jumping ended this way 🤣. Thanks mate, I think I can only run slower cars but I'm sure I can still make it fun. Lol NO! Well actually YES lol. I still can't move it that room. I really gotta get the shed sorted out as cars have started creeping into the bedroom... I mean on whole wall full of new cars stacked up 🤣 No probs mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I might give the Pajero another run soon when the yard is a bit smoother. 👍

@@RCHobbyShed Haha you know you have a good girl when she allows the rc's to start sneaking into the bedroom 👌😁. Pffff who needs a lot of space to run the bigger faster rc's!, Less space just makes it more dangerous therefore makes a better video🤓

Great vintage fun mate! You're the only guy on YT that isnt scared to run his cars after a build, and that's the best part in my opinion. The old cars may not be the quickest things around, but they sure are great fun. Have you grabbed the Wild One limited edition rere yet? They look outstanding
@RCHobbyShed

Thanks mate! I try to run them all but there are a few I won't run because I can't afford to fix them lol. Oh yeah, it's always fun running the older ones, brings back so many memories. They even just sound different to newer cars, with the 32dp gears and balloon style tyres just makes for classic fun! I have pre-ordered the Blockhead Wild One, but have since heard a lot of pre-orders are being cancelled so I'm not confident I'll actually get mine 😥. Will have to wait and see I guess. 👍

How good was this in your own backyard mate. We just had a massive cleanout and filled a huge skip. It's driving me nuts because I want to build the VQS and the kyosho beetle. If that beetle is half as good as the ultima I'll be very happy. I love the Tamiyas but kyosho really build some top quality machines. They never need upgrades and just fantastic stuff. I'm a bit worried about driving rcs in the backyard, the Rottweiler pup Clyde has grown double the size in a month and tried to eat the lawnmower. The cat is a basket case because of him, the old jack Russell has had it with him and the old Rottweiler goes off at him . Wife bought a used Losi speed t , looks like a new truck and $180 bargain. They say 65 mph on 3s but would have to be on road because it's a 4800 kv . Temps would be high on the grass for sure. I have a 5500 kv combo I'm thinking about trying in the kyosho beetle, they seem to handle it ok . Thanks for another great video again Mick. That thing looks great and the fun factor in the backyard is fantastic. Have a good weekend mate.

Thanks mate! Haha, there's always some thing ay there's just not enough time in the day. I'm sure you'll get the VQS and Beetle done soon enough. It might be a good thing you haven't built them, Clyde might eat em! lol. $180 for a Speed-T is a steel, nice buy! Yeah that 65 would be on road for sure. The Beetle running the 5500 will be nuts, might have trouble keeping the front down lol. No probs mate, glad you enjoyed it. You have a great weekend too mate! 👍

Hi Mick, hope you’re keeping well. Always good to have a tidy up and put some organisation in place. Then reward yourself with a thrash in the back yard of an RC! Yeh! For the model type, the Mitsubishi did well and provided that fun after a hard day! Nice one Mick, take care all the best 😉😊😉
