Getting closer to the ton! The 5750kv will be insane. I like Mick’s suggestion foam tyres, should grip better, but when you hit the brakes that might tear them to shreds. I’ve never used them on 1/10th asphalt so I am only guessing. 👍🤓🇦🇺

Really need too swap out that front one way diff too a 2nd rear diff or if possible buy another ball diff so you can actually stop with all 4 wheels instead of essentially pulling the handbrake too slow down with. (Usually for very grippy surfaces you want the rear tires too brake like racing indoors on carpet kind of stuff or with an esc you can adjust the brake force on quite a bit or if you are making a drift car essentially, it helps throwing it around the corners.

If you want to calculate loaded rpm, use 3.6 volt rather than 3.7v. If you want to get nuts, give the new TP Power 3630CM 7000kv motor a try. It's 3S rated and physically a 3658 size can... A real beast of a 540 style motor.

Nice! Its awesome youre doing this, mate, as I have a TB04 & TA06 both NIB still yet to build & don't yet know how best to chose a gearing, motor, esc set up for them. But 3s Lipo on the tble02? Wow! Spec in manual says like 7.2V max! I am amazed that it isn't tripping its safety cut offs & here's why... I run my Blitzer Beetle with the tble02 hooked up to a 13.5T Speed Passion & a 4000mAh 7 cell 8.4V nimh (specially made off center hump pack to fit the strap) & use the bigger of the 2 pinions available in the gearbox (15 tooth?). Now I must be pushing it pretty hard, it runs good & never cuts out, but... The tble02 will NOT pull the Speed Passion 10.5T I have on the 7 cell bomb, as it just trips the safety cut off (current draw or temperature?). Now my multimeter tells me the voltage of the pack is over 10V straight off charge, & obviously the BB has got much bigger wheels than the TA05 so I don't know how the ratios compare. But that's still quite impressive it ran so well without tripping. Maybe the cold weather is helping after all! Awesome!

Brill vid 👍🏻 my hotshot has the same set up ( apart from drive pinion size) and is rapid. I didn’t think the Esc could handle lipo as no cut off. Is 2s safe on this esc in your opinion ? Thanks, keep up good work 👍🏻
@bunjy814
@bunjy814 4 жыл бұрын
ESC's don't "need" a cut-off to be lipo safe; they just need to be able to handle the voltage and current output of the battery. The lipo cut-off setting is to prevent permanent damage to the battery from over-discharging. Just make sure to stop running when the car slows considerably and/or use an external voltage monitoring/warning device and you should be fine. I've been doing this for years and have had no issues.

Could you Recommend the tamiya ESC and servo, coz I just brought my first two tamiya buggy’s bigwig (Marmite)😂and a top force.
@r35553h
@r35553h 4 жыл бұрын
1114mat the TBLE-02s maxed out at 23T brushed and 8.5T brushless. If you have the newer bigwig re-re, the stock motor is equivalent of BZ motor. The ESC would not be able to handle Technigold or Dynatech 01R or Dynatech 02H. If you have an older motor, it is best to get some old LRP ESc or some tekin brushed instead. For servo, any newer metal gear servo will work. Please keep inmind that the Bigwig has the Rack and Pinion Steering not the regular setup
@Mini-z1994
@Mini-z1994 4 жыл бұрын
The kits should come with an esc in the box tbl02s & a standard 540 motor, you'll need a radio, receiver, servo, paint (i think for the top force at least.) battery & charger. It's all fairly standard these days for everything unless it's micro sized uses Futaba plugs with 3 wires. Or mentions it's non standard in any other way. Like say a sensored brushless motor or non sensored brushless motor doesn't always work with every esc out there if it doesn't meet the specs of being able too manage a say 5.5t sensored brushless motor on an esc that has 8.5t as the top end brushless motor limit it will certainly fail after a bit if it doesn't manage too shut down while overheating. If you are just going too be running these buggies about outside & not on a track & don't want too buy a new radio for every kit I'd recommend flysky's gt3c (Can bind up too 10 different receivers & can just switch between them on the radio pretty much.) If you don't mind multiple radios on the shelf the flysky gt2e works fine or any of their similar radios. Specially if you don't do any racing on the track at all really. bunch of different models here too check out. www.flysky-cn.com/car-1 Could ofc just buy one radio & a spare receiever & bind too one car every time you go for a drive with one of the two or have it attached too the car via velcro & just move over the receiver too the other buggy when you want too drive the other one. Planning too run higher end brushless power similar too the video ? I'd look at hobbywings sensored trackstar esc & motors they are pretty good quality wise, on par if not much better then tamiya's esc's, motors im not sure there is a whole lot of difference performance wise other then the trackstar motors perhaps having more adjustability on the motor timing as well. Can buy those on for example hobbyking.com or similar sites. If you want too keep it cheap though you can stick with the tbl02s esc & get a sensored motor for that included esc (down too 10.5t i believe which is fairly decent speed wise as you can see in the video here with a tall gearing, specially on 2s lipo with the motor timing turned up a bit.) If you need a stronger esc for some modified brushed motors like say a 15t 540 motor or a vintage motor of some sort with similar specs or lipo batteries I'd go with a hobbywing 1060 for sure. Down too 15t brushed motors on 3s lipo is pretty quick if not faster then what you've seen in the video here as long as the gear ratio is balanced somewhat. & 12t brushed motors on 2s lipo which is also quite fast. You can run 2s lipo batteries in the tble02s voltage wise but you'll need an external low voltage alarm of some sort so you know when too stop running the car before the battery starts taking damage from running too empty beyond it's safe cutoff voltage limits.

@Mini-z1994
@Mini-z1994 4 жыл бұрын
Wut ? the 10.5t motor did 64 km/h though on top speed running 2s which is faster then the stock 540 on 3s lipo. + The tbl02s is not exactly the greatest brushless sensored esc as it's very conservative on timings for less heat & more runtime which gives less of a punch under acceleration if that's what you are wondering about.

Esc limits the motor. Better off with a sensored hobbywing esc. The difference is massive.

HI Glenn, you would not really need to adjust the timing on a brushless sensored motor with a proper ESC that can program the timing. i can do 2s 85Km/h easy with a 10.5T brushles with an hobbywing xrun esc boost and timing configured. you would be amazed with a programmable esc. I don't know if tamiya even makes that kind of ESC
