The twenty-third edition of the SHTGN festival (formerly Shotgun festival) will take place on 8-9 September in the north of Bohemia near Hrádek nad Nisou. The two-day music event will again focus on novel electronic dance music. Czech, Polish and German visitors come back to the SHTGN festival not only for the programme, but also for the family atmosphere without the crowds typical of huge outdoor summer music events.
The main guests of this year's festival are Lena Willikens and Vladimir Ivkovic. The offspring of the well-known Düsseldorf club Salon des Amateurs have become famous for combining seemingly incompatible musical styles: krautrock, goa trance, idm, acid or techno. Their distinctive style is far from the mainstream and they have showcased it in all the world's famous clubs. They will bring a joint performance to SHTGN festival.
The organizers traditionally focus on fresh discoveries of the electronic scene. This year they will be represented by Dutchman Tamo Hesselink: the seasoned DJ is currently establishing himself on the music scene as a producer thanks to his own work.
The same is the case with another guest of the festival: Berlin-based DJ and musician Laura BCR, presenting lighter and more listenable varieties of electronic music. The list of international guests is concluded by Steffen Bennemann, organiser of the famous Nachtdigital festival.
The domestic scene will be represented by the musician Průvan, whose compositions combine electronic styles of techno, dubstep and drumandbass. Another prominent Czech representative will be the artist Oblaka, who will present his new live performance at the festival.
The homeland will also be represented by others. To name a few: Kletis and Kobayashi Mara, Kredenc, Leoht or Servicebot. The artists will be playing on two stages during Friday and Saturday night, with a daytime music programme also on Saturday.
For the past 4 years, we have been keeping a daily program, during which we serve our great lunches, vegetarian and vegan from Dalibor Staněk, and meat dishes from Meatcraft restaurant in Prague. For eating and the chill will play Leoht & Andrea Dare from Pilsner, and our beloved Vapanda and Paris Salad from Slovakia.
Tickets can be purchased at a discounted price in advance, and will also be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased as part of a package containing the anniversary 2LP compilation Shotgun: 20 Years Of Gladness. A link to the pre-sale can be found here. It is recommended to arrange accommodation in advance along with your tickets, e.g. at the nearby Kristýna campsite.
