‼️‼️‼️PEOPLE PLEASE LISTEN‼️‼️‼️ ALWAYS ask your driver “who are you here for?” and have them tell you the name of who they are there to pick up before you ever step into the car. A mutual friend was murdered earlier this year by a random person who picked her up outside of the college bars in Columbia, SC. The man was parked outside of the bars waiting for a drunk person to mistake him as an Uber, and unfortunately the girl drunkenly got in the car and was found dead in a meadow the next morning. This is extremely serious. Stay safe🙏🏼

This is why Uber has ride check. If your ride goes off course uber contacts you and asks if youre in danger. Or trusted contacts lets your friends/fam track your ride home. Your info can be sent to the police in seconds Really hope you reported this dude

Chloe K I’m not sure if that’s a thing. My last Uber driver did the exact same thing, drove a complete different direction and kept ignoring his phone. I was never contacted by Uber nor was my family

Rachael Fetherston it is...open uber -> settings -> safety -> ride check and make sure its turned on. Or for trusted contacts you have to choose to share your trip with family/friends at the start of each ride, that ones not automatic

Seriously!! He would’ve had her address from the ride in the first place, but he also could have waited around after they went to the shell station after they were picked up again. The fact that they went to Best Buy early in the morning RIGHT when they opened and this dude with the same description was also being EXTREMELY creepy was there at the same time is not a coincidence. I hope she is very very careful!
