TANAPOOR: ARMENIAN TRADITIONAL SOUP
INGRIDIENTS
1 cup of barley
6 cups of water
Cook barley until it is completely cooked
1/3 cup of plain yogurt
2 full tablespoon of sour cream
1 full tablespoon of cream cheese
Salt to your taste
Mix it, add liquid from the cooking barley gradually and make sure you steer it.
Add the yogurt mixture to the barley.
Keep on steering it.
2 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon of oil
1 small onion
Sauté the onion and add to the pot.
Add hand full of chopped cilantro.
Simmer for another 1/2 hour and turn the heat off.
Let it cool down for 20 minutes and serve.
